Keyword as the first word in the domain? Or doesn't it matter?

I have a question; Does it matter if you have your keyword in your domain before or after another word in your domain, i.e. for a streaming video site, watchkeyword.com vs. keywordwatch.com.

Obviously, watchkeyword.com makes more sense, but does that structure have any negative effects as far a SEO goes or doesn't it matter, regarding the keyword not being the first word in the domain?

    Any help would be great!

    yes, it does matter.

try doing the same search for your keywords and then flip the positioning of the keywords. it will return different results.

    so if you're looking for..

    blue cars

    or

    cars blue

the searches will return different results.

It matters for typing in searches in a search engine, which is what the previous post says. But the OP was interested in whether it matters for domains. Given the fact that some people even advocate not having keywords in your domain at all, as in a fully brandable domain, I wouldn't worry about the order of keywords in your two-word domain. Also, suppose it *did* matter right now, there's nothing to say that it will matter in the future as search engines change their algorithms. I say way more important is what feels like a better name to you and what will make more sense to your users. I say go for the one that is the better name, not the one that might have some slight hypothetical SEO advantage. If and only if the name is equal either way, then put your top keyword first.

Put your query in Google Trends.
To compare keywords separate them with commas and see results which keyword is more trendy.
