You are supposed to decide what keywords to target before you start writing. Pick keywords that have little competition but many searches.

First, make a list of services you provide, and think what will you write to search these services, then check the list from Google keyword suggestion tool. Look for those keywords that gives you traffic, but realistic about things that either you can get that keyword on first page of Google or not. Also look for long keywords.

The best way is to try some keyword research tools. I use semrush for that case for example...

There are loads to pick from skylinkseo. Free ones such as Google's and Wordtracker's or paid for ones like Market Samurai, Keyword Elite, Micro Niche Finder, Keyword Discovery etc etc

If you want to pick one of the excellent paid for tools, do your research. There are subtle and not so subtle differences between these and loads of other tools. You should pick the one that best serves your needs.

Make a list of semantic keywords related to your themes. Check Search Volume from Google Adwords Keyword Suggestion tool and number of competitors for the particular keyword from Google. Go to the bottom of the list of Google Adwords, you may find some interesting long tail keywords which are easier to start with. Best of luck.

Before going to keywords tools just visit website and analyze it deeply what the website is for. Is it for informative or e commerce website? Then go for competitors of same area. Look what keywords they are targeting. What I think it is one of the best ideas to find keywords. Then go to Google keyword tool to find search volume & competition. It is important to target industry related keywords...

Picking up the keywords for your site is a tricky job for cacheing of your web site. It depends upon the activities u do on your web page. Better crieteria to choose a right keyword is to choose those keywords which face less competition and more searches on them.

Decide on some general keywords that are relevant to your website.

Use Google adwords keyword tool to find other keyword ideas and variations.

Find keywords that have more than 2000 global monthly searches

Type the keyword into a google search enclosed in quotation marks, if the number of results (competition) is less than 75,000 (or thereabouts), this would be a good keyword for you.

    Hope that helps :)
