What about a keyword having 3000 local and 100000 global searches with medium competition. I chose a keyword with 20000 local and far more global searches but I think I've made a mistake because my site being on 3rd locally doesn't get 30 visitors a day. I use keyword tool to analyze. What are other good methods to select a keyword?
Have you been implementing any SEO tactics to optimize your website? If so, then that's the time you shift to another keyword. BAsed on experience, I must say that there is no exact formula in getting a money-making keyword. Only through experimenting and knowing what works for you would determine how to fish out a good one in the long list. Best of luck! Janeah
You are using Google Keyword Tool? Have you check [exact match] in the left hand column? Ticking this returns search estimations for that exact phrase. If you do not tick it it will default to Broad Match, which is not an accurate estimation of volume for your desired phrase, but volume for all phrases related to and including it. Common Mistake. Make sure you tick [exact match] before looking at search volumes and selecting keywords.
just hire someone professional to do keyword research for you, i have a team, done that work for me, and now i provide my seo service to digital point members to your success, Ayman X.
Hi, you must use Exact match as Nate55 said. Only exact match will give you what you are looking for. You then need to go through careful selection of your keyword or keyword phrase. After you think you have found one, go and do a search on google for that keyword or keyword phrase and see the all 10 websites on page 1. Carefully check those sites and see if you think you can beat anyone of them with careful SEO and get to that spot. You might find a site that ranks for your keyword but has thousands of backlinks and is at #2 forget it. However, maybe at #9 you might find a site, that that only has 300 backlinks and no PR, can you beat that site of course. Keyword selection is a fine art, yes you can get someone else to do it, pay for that service, however, unless you master that task yourself, how on earth do you know that the service is doing a good job. You don't. Take Care, Maggie
you really need to take a look on the moneyword chart in this thread : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2394478 it's will help you a lot to understand what is the best keyword to target in any niche to your success, Ayman X
For selecting perfect keyword you can use this tools: https://adwords.google.com/o/Target...000&ideaRequestType=KEYWORD_IDEAS#search.none
Here are just a few criteria I use when selecting my keywords: 1) I only use exact match - this way I have a better idea of what to expect as far as traffic is concerned 2) I take the average PR of the first page and try to stay under 2.2 - preferably under 2 if possible 3) For the most part I don't like keywords that are cyclical, I rather have consistent traffic year round. This could be the case with your site and why you are only getting 30 visits/day If I were you I would just keep going after more keywords, get them ranked and get more traffic. Good luck!
