Key weirdness.

    Hi,

I am getting a message that the key has been damaged if I try to load Optigold through the FileMaker Server. If I load the program just using a local copy of the database through Filemaker Pro, it seems to work fine. Can you advise?

I have e-mailed with this also (also requesting a slight
    name change to our key).

Let's see how long it takes to get a response... I would really not like to
have to dink around with this for a few weeks before I get a response
(as has been the usual response time in the past, based on messages on
    this forum).

    Thanks,
    Tom

If you have a working key that works locally, I would just move that to the database server.

    Hi Shawn,

It is the same key -- it will not work through the network/FM Server,
    but works fine locally.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Do you get any error in your event log for FM Server?

I was getting a message that the file couldn't be opened in it's current state, to open it in Filemaker Pro first. The new key file that I was e-mailed quite speedily solved the problem. Thanks!

Did you try doing that (opening it in FileMaker Pro first)?

Yes, I sure did. And it opened fine that way. But still gave me the error when trying to open it when hosted on the server.

Yup. Well it is fixed now, thanks to the new key.

Sorry to waste your time with this, I know you are very busy coding the newest version of the Optigold rewrite!
