Keeping track of your directory submissions

    How do you keep track of your submissions to directories?

    I've thought of keeping a list or text file containing each directory I've submitted to, but that list can get out of hand quickly. I have been using directory lists, such as the one at http://info.vilesilencer.com and submitting to them alphabetically; that way I can just record what letter I am on.

    You have your own solution :) zan23. Many sites are now providing albhatical directory listing, by that way you can keep track of submissions.

    I keep a little Excel file with the URL, reciprocal or not, and indexed or not, i just add to it and change it as i go along, at first i was keeping record on paper, my file is sort of in alphabetical order.

    that's a way but not the best way.
    Since there are always new direcotry. you will have to match you list to the updated list

    What I find tough is keeping track of who adds and who doesn't. Because the time from submission to acceptance or rejection can be so erratic, you have to keep checking back. Not everyone who links will email, and many who reject your site will not.

    A spreadsheet is handy, but there's always the issue of when I update it to keep it current. There isn't always time.

    :D

    Very nice set of tools and sites you have. I have bookmarked and will look though again. Your tools look like they can be integrated together for maximum effect.

    Do you have a blurb or quick-start that you can PM me. I looking to know how I to integrate the various tools on your site and and use them together for article submission and adsense.

    Thanks, glad you like it :)

    @Edynas
    I am constently adding more directories to the list, but I also actively remove those that never list any sites (since I can actually keep track of which list sites)
    If I never removed any sites, there would probably be more than double the number there is now.

    If the link color is changed, that means I've submitted my stuff :)

    But I sometimes keep them in an excel sheet

    Stick with Excel, it is so easy. Whenever you have a new site to promote, you will have access to a few thousand directories that you have already submitted some of your older sites to work with.

    Excel allows you to grab listing from different "lists of directories", then filter and combine them to your own liking.
