Oops... Man, I feel like a slug! I haven't updated my account or contact information at Associated Content in ages. I just logged in to check on which articles I'm free to print elsewhere, and discovered I had new messages. One was very important. One of the admin's at AC was contacted by a journalist for the main newspaper in the town next to mine, and she had sent me a message because this journalist wanted to talk to me. She was interested in talking to me about finding time to write, and be creative being a Mom. What's better than possible, pretty decent, media coverage? I may have missed out on it, guess I'll have to wait and see. (Yes, I updated my information so I know when I get messages from now on! I wouldn't have dreamed of publicity like that coming in through an avenue like AC - my bad)
Damn.. I wish something like this happened to me, just for the sake of it!! lols, anyways, never mind, who knows, you might get a call from some other news agency this time around
Wow... Congrats on the great lead via AC and your work paying off for you in that way And thanks for sharing your story to remind us to keep our contact information up-to-date on our info and social networking sites. There are a few that I haven't been to in ages, and I think I need to go do some updating ASAP.
Wow--I haven't even visited AC in the longest time. I wonder if my info is correct. Thanks for the reminder to make sure that people have a way to find us from all avenues!
I don't know what it is about AC but it just doesn't seem to 'jump out' as one of those avenues to use. Maybe its because its not heavily promoted in the mainstream? At least I know its not just me. Good job by the way and I'm making a committment to self to rev up my own AC account!
That happened to me once, not because I hadn't updated my contact information, but because I was without internet access. A journalist from CNBC wanted to interview me and I got the email just a few hours too late! Bummer. Sorry for the hijack. I agree with you, though. Make sure people can get in touch with you. I like to use an email address I know I will always have.
We learn from our mistakes and sometimes our mistakes are bigger [or smaller] than we think they are. Anyway, there's always a next time.
