I am moving to new domain. All my pages will be redirected with 301 redirection. My web site ranks #1 on google for main keyword. Can I somehow keep rankings on serps or new domain is a new struggle with competition?
i think so. or, put something on the index that you're moving into a new URL. i guess it'll keep your SERP and PR as well sans deleting anything relevant. i'm not a 100% sure with redirecting though, but i guess it also works.
IMO you will have a hard time in retaining your serps specially if you will be moving on a new domain. More likely its a new struggle.
But i m not sure.. why are you buying new domain?? let the old domain be as it is.. develop same content in the new domain get same backlinks and optimize it more.. wait till u get rank for new domain and then delete old domain.
You think because of age of domain and sandbox?? Competition is not that big I am moving to new domain because it is much better . We will do some offline advertising and it is much more enhanced. Backlinks and PR will be redirected from old to new one with 301 redirection.
This is a great question and I am not sure i have heard a definitive answer. Please post back here with your results so we can all learn from your experience.
