Keep getting deactivated, it's annoying

I have the script installed on http://www.definethis.org , it's on the main page and all the content pages.

Once every two-three days, the script gets deactivated because it can't find ads on the help, contact or about page.
It's really annoying because I have to login all the time and click on Validate 3 or 4 times until the script tests one of the other links.

Can't something be done about this?

(I mean, besides placing the links on those three pages)

Well, I read the RTFM and I still think it's stupid.
I mean, come on, hard hard it can be to modify it so that it will fail on two out of three links without ads? I don't know how the system works but I think less than 0.5% of the sites tested fail to show ads, it wouldn't be too much of a burden to retest failed sites one more time when they fail.

Would you place link ads on your Privacy page or your License agreement for something on one of your sites? How professional would that look? (not that having this system on your site looks professional but anyway...).

Just my thoughts, don't hit me.

If you don't like it, don't use it. It's that easy.

Plus, it used to pick a random page, so you could just re-validate once. I'm the one who asked for it to keep picking the same URLs, so people like you couldn't just validate off a handful of pages. That's not really fair, when everyone else has to follow the rules and have it on every page.

See, it pulls those pages from the google API index. So those pages are giving you weight (i.e. the co-op thinks you have ads on them), so when you don't, you are detracting from the co-op, lying to it basically.

If it were up to me, once I auto-hit a page w/o links, you couldn't revalidate unless you added links to it. Then I would check again, a random # of minutes into the future (say 2 -> 36 hours), so you couldn't just revalidate then remove the ads.

So you should feel lucky you can hit validate a few times.

Network won't be customized to specific needs. Take it or leave it.

Ok... thanks to the dumb ass who repped me red with the message "whinger". I think you meant "whiner", learn to speak English.

Fryman... I'm not saying that it should be customized to MY needs.
nddb... I just think that we should all just trust a little bit more the people that want to use the network, they're not all just some losers who want to cheat the system.

Maybe some of them simply don't want the links on a couple of pages like I do, maybe some of them are enrolled in some advertising campaigns where they are paid for links on the main page and they would be paid less if the network links are shown on the main page, especially as they are so irrelevant with the content of the site.

It wouldn't hurt anyone if there would be an option for users to say "I don't want to place the links on these pages" and allow user to specify up to... I don't know... a very restrictive number... 8,16 pages. On a site like the one I'm using the network on, with 3 million pages, 3 pages wouldn't change the outcome of the algorithm.

Everybody, it would be great if you would stop assuming things or your idea is the best one and ask users...

Yes, why don't we just let people type in how many pages they have in the index. Seriously tho, I don't care what you do, I only requested the change so I would be forced to fix a few straggling pages.

Secondly, I couldn't care about your problems with the network, and how you want excluded pages, that would be a pain in the ass to write into the system, I'm certain of that, and if you don't like the rules. Don't use it.

Also, "Whinger," I believe is the australian or maybe british way of saying "whiner". So, you got insulted by a foreigner, it's english, just a different dialect. =)
