I wanted 3 .COM.AU domain names with NetGator in USA
They referred me to NetRegistry in Australia
I paid for the 3 domain names to be registered
Next day only 1 was registered
NetRegistry told me the bank had refused payment
The bank confirmed payment had been made in full
The remaining 2 domain names were registered when I complained
    NetGator issued me with nameservers
NetRegistry told me to log in and DIY
I could not do this because they had not issued me with a password
I requested a password. They would not send it to me because I was the webmaster not the owner, so I asked them to send it to the owner.
    Password was not received.
Repeated the request 3 or 4 times - not result
Warned NetRegistry I would raise a trnasaction dispute with the bank - they were hostile and said "We do not issue refund"
Reported to the business owner that I had obtained the domain names, but could not use them because NetRegistry would not issue a password.
Owner called NetRegistry. They issued him with a password WITH NO SECURITY CHECK THAT HE WAS THE OWNER
This wasted 3 days and hours of my time. I do not understand why they would not cooperate with me the webmaster.
Registering domain names and with no password is like buying a car and not giving you the keys - CRAZY AND INFURIATING.

    Update on Netregistry
I sent in a complaint to NetRegistry asking an explanation of:
    • Why they told me the bank had refused payment when the bank approved payment
    • Why tech support would not deal with me when I was the webmaster
    • Why the password emails supposedly sent to the owner were not received by him
    • Why they had issued a password over the phone to the owner with no security check of any sort
I also asked for an apology.

    I received the following answer:
"I'm closing your case as it doesn't seem like a productive discussion for either party.
    Regards,
    Brett Fenton"

This was my first and last business with NetRegistry. I'm extremely disturbed by their arrogance and the 3 days it took me to do what I expected would be done in a day.

I strongly recommend that anyone wanting .COM.AU domain names does NOT go to NetRegistry
