Keep Articles on my Website or submit to Article Directories?

Is it better to keep the articles I write on my website to build up content, traffic etc or just submit them to Article Directories to gain back links?

If you're going to take the time to build and promote your site then in the long run you'd be better off using them there. If I had to choose just one. But why not use both?

I've never had a problem with ezinearticles.com rejecting an article when it was published to my site first. As for backlinks you could make a "condensed" version to submit to the directories with your keyword anchor text linking to your homepage and the full article on your site in the resource box.

I also do both - almost. First i submit the article to for instance articlesbase.com then i rewrite it a bit and submit it to my own site. I believe its important to have a website that's "alive". If people visit your site and it hasnt been updated for weeks or months they would probably move to another site.

Are they good articles? If they're crappy out sourced articles, I wouldn't put them on my site. If they're good I would put them on my site and use social media and email to promote them.

For the most traffic and best rankings in the long run you should submit your article to at least 5 different article directories but taking out some detail and then publish the actual article with all the bells and whistles on your site. This way the articles won't be the same.

You can do both, but, I have suggestion rewrite your article manually, that would be work great for your site and article directories, you will get traffic from search engine for same article but from two different way

I'd always make sure the best content stays on your site. If you want to publish content elsewhere, again go for quality if you're interested in attracting REAL people (for example, guest posts on other blogs). If you're pumping content to article databases in an effort to increase links, rewrite existing content - I'd suggest that quality isn't as important in that instance.

I do both as well. I write my blog article, publish it, then have it re-written slightly (remove the links and pictures) and submit it.

Let me ask those that know: what's the advantage of re-writing your article and how much of it do you re-write it?

Use both..... But if you think you have a killer article that will bring lots of traffic just put it on your site, if you think you have a crap article that wont bring many people just post it on a article directory. This is to avoid having you entire website being duplicate content google will not like it if it is.

If you are very anxious to publish it on ezine, give it try there first. Then you can add it to your own site - because it is your own. Ezine appears to be highly critical when it is published on your site. Ezine takes more time. There are other directories - especially Articlesbase.com of the same pr rank of ezine, It is very fast and quite encouraing. try it.

You should do both. Keep the best for your site, and submit the rest to article directories.

Spinning article would work and also not count as the cannonical issue. Article is a good source to attract traffic, promote your site and generate leads. Make sure your article is interesting and informative So that the user engage to read it. You can spin it by changing some words, using synonyms, wrote it in different way and submit it on your blog and other article directories.

It is always nice to use your content for link building, as you have posted it already. The point is that, you are pointing the backlink to that site where the article was posted genuinely. I am using these methods. Spinning is also a great thing to b availed.

    Hope it will help.
