With Kevin Keegan back in the Newcastle hot seat, will this see a turn in the fortunes of the club?

Good to see him back I must say. The battle between him and Fergie still make me laugh :D

You guys said the same thing while hiring Souness and then Allardyce ;)

Kevin Keegan is not good enough for the job, they oughta have given Sam 6 months more ter prove himself.

Well I like KK as he did a good job for Newcastle United and now I think he would take Newcastle into top 8 this season which is first goal for him.

No, I don't think we did. Newcastle fans were pretty acceptant of the fact that no matter how much money you threw at the team or the manager they were still piss poor defensively. Back in the early nineties Keegan brought entertaining, passionate football to St James' Park. We didn't always win, but we didn't need too because the fans could be assured of having great value entertainment every match day.

We'll probably not win anything major this season or next but I'm certain Keegan can do a lot to lift the morale of fans and performance of the team. But we must give him time - not pile on pressure with unrealistic expectations.

Ofcourse. But Allardyce would have done much better.

Bolton was my second favorite team while Allardyce was there, and I just hate the fact that you hired him and then dumped him so soon

Allardyce is a thug and a criminal. That's why he won't talk to the BBC - they exposed his corruption on Panarama.

I'd like to see how Owen and Keegan combine.

Owen has admitted that he did not particularly enjoy playing for England under Kevin.

I wish I could edit my previous post, but I cannot.

Kevin's first game in charge- a 0-0 draw against the Trotters.
No entertainment, Jaaskelainen was not troubled at all.

Still it is early days...we need to give him some more time.

Even if Kevin can do something good for the club, how far can Newcastle go as far as Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are there at the top...

If he can do it once with the Magpies, I believe he can do it again. This time he has a blank checkbook to play with :D

Yeah, Rome wasn't built in a day and improving Newcastle's woeful performance on the pitch is going to be equally difficult. At least we didn't lose and Keegan has seen first hand which areas need to be worked on.

Unfortunately there's only so much he can do.

He is a brave lad though, that's a pretty tough job right now.

I really hope he solves all issues with Owen and with Shearer.

But there are some really big guys in the Premiership right now, not easy without pouring in tons of cash.

And that might be dangerous, being tempted by spending borrowed money, and maybe ending up like Leeds Utd.

And I also hope that he looks thoroughly for British talent, and not abroad. In the long term it might be the best bet. Unfortunately I guess that at Newcastle they are really eager to win something in the short term.

Oh well, let's hope for the best!
