I've used Bitdefender, Kaspersky, nod32, Symantec, and McAfee

I have to say that I chose McAfee and Bitdefender.

    It's just my choice

Get PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Antivirus, both awesome and it will protect you from all threats, spyware, adware, malware, worms etc.

I used Kaspersky for a while but switched to the above because it's a better deal and offers better protection in my opinion.

Friends many people still thinks that Norton is slower .From Norton 2009 products , its one of the fastest antivirus suites in the market . Norton is now faster than Kaspersky ,Avira ,AVG etc . and a near competitor for NOD32 in speed. Try and see the difference . But the detection rate is better with Kaspersky and NOD32 .

KasperSky is the best one though it has one small drawback. When you use kasperSky you can notice that your internet browsing speed will be slow.

    I'm using Avast anyways.

Kaspersky is loading your hardware as well.
NOD32 is the best antivirus! :)
Better use *nix - no viruses ;)

Kaspersky is the best as long as u have the computer to handle it as it is a system hog at times

although Nod32 does come close (i'm sure it uses the same engine as Kaspersky)

and the new version of Norton gets a honourable mention for MOST IMPROVED AV software!

I hope those picking on Norton are not judging based on the old products

the new version of Norton are fantastic (i've got 3 licenses for the other PCs - and i never thought i would use norton ever again! how wrong was I ! it runs quick, low on resources, installed quick and does its job without bothering you - and its got a very high detection rate)
try the trial of the new version of Norton those who have not used norton in a while (it may suprise you)

that said - i still dont think its up there with Nod32 or Kaspersky just yet though

I was also thinking about the weird placement of forum category.

    Back to the topic!!

I couldnt use kaspersky because it froze my pc every time I logged in. (think I posted that previously)

Symantec have tweaked up the norton antivirus product, it works more efficient today than in the past.

So if you tried Norton AV 2 years ago and thought it was bad because it slowed down your computer it may be a different scenario today.

Kaspersky better but nod32 uses less resources..

so depends on your PC spec really in terms of which one u pick
