I recently started an eCommerce website with a friend of mine. I am hoping to get some reviews on what we have done so far. I should also mention that this website is still quite new, I am waiting for the dns on the .ca to be active.

SEO is a constant struggle that takes up most of my time... I have done SEO for a number of sites in the past.

as far as paid marketing goes, I am putting together a budget with my partner soon. I may take on some web design tasks/jobs to increase my marketing budget.

 

Branding will take some time as well. I am pretty happy with the logo and emblem setup.

 

SEO no doubt a Struggle and It take time, but Go with it Along with Paid marketing, as SEO improve Business Brand visibility.
But in SEO also There are many ways like first Target particular State in canada, then move with separate states, then your website automatically ranks well, but Good work need to Done.

I was lucky enough to do some initial target advertising for another business to see where my customers are coming from. thankfully I have that foot in the door.

yes my page speeds are weak. and that is something I am improving on. my entire site is currently bieng optimized for size and speed

overall, considering I setup an entire website (theme, products, social networks) in 3 days, is nothing sort of a miracle

 

Well in the Paid marketing like Google ads; You can target exact location, But what is the final output from applied Budget is the top Concern.

 

I may end up shelling out for a marketing guy when the time comes.

 

Well It all depends on the Budget.

 

I figure a $15 a day budget will give me a general idea of my target audience, then another $600 will get me a social media specialist to help refine things. from there I could spend anywhere from 20-300 a day on ads

 

Here is the Suggestion on this... If you can Do Ok.

Hire someone experience professional from Country through which in a Low price Ad campaign run to discover huge profit. Suppose if you are in USA spending D-15 but if you run the same ad campaign from other countries where $ rate is higher then their currency then you can get same thing in D-10 save D-5.

So, "20-300 a day on ads in the same budget" reaches to the 500 Day I think.

 

other then the obvious marketing and SEO work. what else is missing from the site.

 

Require Blog! Content is the King.

 

Design is good, can be better. Since this is just the start, we are hoping it'll improve. Promotion is a must. If you need any help, buzz me here.

and of course I need help . I will eventually hire a professional depending on cost.

 

What's wrong with the design? Looks sharp to me. Since it's a wp theme, it probably has a lot of stuff that's just extra, which in turn may slow your site down. Make sure you do not run plugins you do not necessarily need.

 

With respect to Time Design need to Change. Suppose adding more products to the home page. Proper Spacing between blocks is necessary, and many more things with respect to design.... Always website looks creative. "Speed is another issue"
