I'm quite surprised that you didn't understand her post. I am like you in that I am a natural speaker of French, however I do also speak a bit of Spanish. Look at her post and see the words that are so similar to our language:
    "apprendi"
    "escribo"
    "es"
    "primer"
    "estudie"
    "bien"
They are not exactly like French but close enough where you ought to have gotten it. Anyway I must caution y'all about posting in other than English. I have received a few infractions when I first joined DP for posting in French and German. I advise you not to do it.;)
P.S. I received an infraction as recently as 3 weeks ago for posting in French.

I'm English, not French. My partner's French. I'm definitely not a natural French speaker. :)

Just because one person finds something "easy" or "simple enough" doesn't mean someone else will. In a similar vein to the discussion about grammar checking, this kind of assumption is incorrect.

I loathe having to type in Spanish. As the point of my response suggested, I can..I don't LIKE to....lol...but when I HAVE to, I can do it well.

Gee, they give infractions for things other than making snide comments about other people's posts? *Looking at her infractions list*

    Who knew? :)

Not that I wish to deviate from the thread topic (I've been known to do this on occassion) but..... "Judge not and ye shall not be judged".;)

I think you misunderstood what I said.

The only thing I was 'judging' was my own inexperience with getting infractions for anything other than making snide comments on other people's threads, as that's what all of mine have been for.

Haha. Excellent question! They would check in Grammarly I suppose... That would be enough to let them know if something is not grammatically right.

Well, at least they know WHAT to outsource! It's definitely something they can't do themselves!

    Writing.

At least they've identified their weakness!

Some things never change :) I already had this discussion almost 3 years ago. Feels like I haven't been away at all.
A writer selling his trade also has to sell "his/her art". So basically it's also our job to get that point across. Sometimes we succeed other times the buyer does not want to hear it. In case of the latter reality will deliver the point only a little later :p

Is it worth keeping this thread going just to highlight some of the more farcical attempts at WTB instructions or would that be a bit cruel? I mean some of them are so jaw-droppingly bad...

I'd love a thread highlighting all of the nincompoops who have come here and assumed the membership would embrace their spun/stolen/over-published articles. It takes the fun out of it when the mods keep protecting these folks by deleting their threads.

On the other hand, I would love to have just a fraction of the proceeds from whatever ebook, secret course or webinar that encourages such nonsense. They've obviously found a lot of nubes to sell their snake oil to.
