Just when I thought I was out... They pull me back in!

Greetings from an SEO / marketing newbie. Well, actually an old timer newbie.

In the late 90's, I was a partner in a company that did websites and software. We did a lot of beta testing with Microsoft's Merchant Server on NT. We also did dome marketing and SEO work. I wrote an email scraping tool that worked with Webcrawler and AltaVista and gave it to the other owners of the comapny to market their own websites and such. Since that time, I focused more on software development and proprietary libraries and boring stuff like encrypted transmission channels, message cryptography and such.

About 6 months ago, I got a call from one of my old partners and after catching up a bit, he asked about the old scraper. I forgot about the program but he used it until a few years ago. It got me thinking again about internet marketing and data gathering. Since I'm semi retired (involuntarily), I re-wrote the email scraper and gave it to him. I'll probably hear from him again in another 10 years.

Anyway, I started looking again at the whole marketing / SEO thing and it re-sparked my interest. I thougt I would sign on and see what kind of things I can learn from the experts.
