Buy some adwords coupons or discard adwords.

Can you get some details what product you're promoting, keywords, landing page etc.?

I think you rushed, I always set my budget to $10/day when testing a new campaign, that way I won't waste lot's of money if something doesn't work.

Webmaster niche is competitive, especially for hosting etc.

    Hi eTime,
I know it is real frustrating losing money with Adwords. Join the club, I have lost $1400 doing this and decided to pause all my campaigns until I figure out my next steps. I was promoting Clickbank products and losing my shirt. After doing some research and spending money on courses, here is what I've heard for example:

    1. It is VERY competitive. Because it is easy to use the Google Cash method, everyone is doing it.

    2. It is a cut throat business. People are stealing other people's commission using underhanded tactics.

    3. I believe that it is possible to make tons of money if you do it right...maybe play the game the way the ruthless people do it.

    4. There are things that you just HAVE TO do if you want to survive in this business like a) cloaking your hoplinks if you are promoting Clickbank stuff.
    b) create effective landing pages that link to what you are promoting. c) build a list of customers thru opt-in email lists for post sales offers.

    5. Know what your limits are and what you can and can't do. People are saying that "It is being done, so it can be done". I believe that is partially true...because not everyone is created equal. If you don't have the tools and the ability to swim with the sharks, you will be eaten by them. Just my 2 cents...

eTime, if you really want to succeed, stop what you are doing and do some research. There are a couple of real good teachers out there who are making tons of money and they can show you how. Look up Project X for starters. The guy who wrote is known as th king of Adwords.

If you don't do this, the only one that is going to get rich is Google.

    Good Luck,
    Ather

    eTIME,
As Arther said, it is really mind boggling trying to do well with search engine marketing.

Is your account more than 14 days old? If not, like some of the other people said buy a voucher. If you have e-gold, there are alot of people selling $100 in credit for around $15. Its a great way to just "jump-start" your account, without being worried about how much money you are spending.

PM me if you would like some more help!

Hey eTime, sounds like you figured out part of your problem already.

You're probably targetting too large an audience, or too general of keywords. As everyone else has said, the webmaster niche is probably one of the most competitive out there, so you'll probably need to drill down to a very very very very specific section.

Who are you targetting? Webmasters who own a small site and need more traffic? Webmasters who are complete novices to the internet but would like to build a home & family website? Gaming webmasters who want to run live video game demos on their site?

In order to be successful in marketing, the key is to identify (or select) your audience, then drill down to the level where you're so specific you're not targetting anyone, and back it up a level.

Also, 62 cents might be the normal bid for what you were bidding on - but unless you're sure you can convert for that much, try finding keywords you can bid on that are no more than 30 cents or so.

    -T
