Just venting - Am I the only one?

Am I the only one that goes through a ton of trouble to get sign-ups and gets these people that sign up to try this and then they place 1 ad on 1 webpage with a Google PR0 of their 10,000 webpage site and expect it to work for them?

Does this happen to anyone else? :(

What do you mean by "working"? It should work in that setup no problem.

No, they expect to receive tons of advertising and lots of backlinks but do not utilize the coop to it full potential.

A lot of the referrals that I have come in put 1 ad on 1 page and try it for a week.... don't seee any results and then leave....

That is what I am talking about.... has nothing to do with the coop not working... they just don't utilize it correctly. Does anyone see this with their referrals?

You want to be careful with our referrals anyway, IMO - this year Google has really turned on sandboxing issues pretty badly, and too many repetitive links can potentially negatively impact Google.

I actually use a lot less of my potential co-op weight than I am entitled to, precisely because I would rather take things slow and steady, then suddenly find myself overweighting and collapsing rankings through overuse.

Co-op offers a great opportunity for webmasters to share advertising, but I'd personally say it's safer to take things slowly and carefully than try to rush in too fast with too much.

Does that make you feel any better? :)

LOL.... not really..... I don't mind it at all... Bring on the weight..... Coop has done nothing but help help help....

I too read the Google patent. Just because they have mentioned that in their patent does not mean that it is in place yet. It will take quite a long time to program all of that. It doesn't happen in a day or even in a month.

Give me weight or give me death.... just give me smart referrals.

    :)

I get those people too. And for them I made the FAQ but it's mostly them again who don't read it :D

I don't understand that they don't understand that 'give 1 take 100' is selfish...

Actually even worse is that 80% of ref weight has vapourised since the last code update. They must have been too lazy/busy to update and never bothered - now not validating (I guess)...

The only problem I have with your rant is that I didn't think it was possible to put the coop link on a single page. I thought you had to have the link on every page in the site.

As far as seeing results in a hurry some people are just idiots. There is no way anyone is going to see anything in Google in a hurry these days. MSN maybe, and who knows about Yahoo.

You can have it on 1 webpage if you have 1 webpage in a subdirectory.
This will allow you to have 1 link on 1 webpage.

I actually saw results on Google and Yahoo when I first joined the coop within 2 weeks. The only reason I didn't see any on MSN is because I had something in the robots.txt file that was blocking them from reviewing the website. I have a post somewhere here that gives a day by day breakdown of how I did with the coop for the whole month.

AS soon as I removed the part in the robots.txt file, I saw number 1 ranking within 2 weeks. We have jumped between 1 - 4 ever since.

You can have the coop on one page even if that page is in a folder with ten thousand pages.

Where are you guys getting this all and one if only one in the folder?

    That is true.

The statement however was that you can't put ads on one page or have to have them on all pages.

It won't always auto validate, but will "work".

Yes, you are right technically you CAN put ads on one page. You can also put them on your forehead if you like. ;)

I was talking about validating as well when I made that statement.

I think Noppid was just trying to be smart.

I share your frustration but not in the same respect. I've lost about half of my refferals to another network in the last month. They could always end up comin gback though ;)
