Hello, I've read many posts on updating ads, choosing better positions, making stuff more visible but just..never took the time do it all. Today I had an idea of creating a sort of banner for my blog which would be on top (below the main banner which basically says my blog name (blogger type)). There are 2 camera pictures in the second banner and both sit right above an ad that appears. In my opinion, that should make people look in that area and maybe some will click. Is it against the TOS? I think I saw it here too, some guy used pigs above his ads and it worked. Here is a post on my site: http://the-digital-photographer.blogspot.com/2009/10/aperture.html Thanks.
I don't think this would be acceptable because the camera pictures are right above the adsense ad. See this link from the Adsense blog: http://adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/ad-and-image-placement-policy.html
Hi Tarum, Diana is right. You need to ensure that your ads are clearly NOT related to the images. You could split this with a defined line under your banner. Personally I think you would do better to place ads where your "Aperture" image is - Under the title but before the content. Use a fairly large block rather than a link unit. Reason... I'm not sure if you've heard of "banner blindness" but basically it means that many visitors now subconciously ignore anything above your content as they know it's usually advertisements. There's more to it than this and banners can still be effective but in general, the first thing they'll see on your site is your 'Title' on the left and they'll read from there. Thanks, John.
