Just started out.. Am I doing the right things?

I've started a blog on a subject that I know a lot about.
I put high quality content there. I spend a lot of time writing the content, not just put it there so I have something new.
I submitted one of my articles to e-zine and it got accepted, my blog link is included on the e-zine article.

I submitted the blog to a lot of blog directories and web site directories.
I've submitted my site to the major search engines.

Put my blog as a signature at the forums I'm a member of, as well as cite it as a source when answering on Yahoo! Answers

I've been trying to promote myself with digg and similar services.
It's been about a week since I created the blog, I've put 4-5 quality articles so far. I make sure that the content is top-notch.

I've done link exchange with 3-4 sites.

For monetization I use Adsense as well recommending some related affiliate products to the viewers.

The problem is, I only get around 10-15 views per day, and that's only from a few visitors from digg or yahoo answers

I'm wanna know if what I've done so far is right, and what do I need to next, I don't know if I'm allowed to list my site, If it's okay I'll list the URL so you can take a look,

    Thanks

Try doing cross promotions with owners of blogs that have a lot of traffic and comments.

Firstly, your are on the right track!
I would recommend that you be patient. Results will take awhile as you seem to be using the correct SEO approach so far.

Continue to do the same. There is one thing that you may try which has worked for everyone in every business. Offer something free, even if it is not yours. This will increase the flow of traffic to your website and hopefully you will gain some bookmarks from it.

    Honestly,

I'd focus on posting in the blog and doing link exchanges only. Submitting articles and links to directories is great, if you want to make good money in 2012, but writing in your blog can get you some traffic quickly.

Make sure you pick topics that are popular enough to even get searches and link to as many other blogs as possible when doing so. Bloggers are a tight group and when they see you mention them they will come check out your blog, comment and sometimes write about you on their blog. This natural flow will get you good SEO rankings and is much more productive than the typical crap you see suggested.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for the responses.
I guess I cannot get traffic overnight, that was my main concern, the lack of traffic on my blog.
I guess it takes some time and hard work in order to develop some traffic.
So I'll concentrate on posting more quality content, and doing some link exchange wil relevant sites, and I guess the traffic will eventually come.

I believe what you are doing is right and that you are on track, the fact that you get so few visitors amazes me. I do most of that stuff and I get more than that per day. Maybe you should re-write those articles and submit them to squidoo and hubpages aswell as ezinearticles, try to build a reputation by helping people. Write some how to articles everyone loves them. Also videos are a good source of traffic..create some videos and submit them to youtube and google videos they drive a decent amount of traffic.

First define the purpose of starting a blog,it should have a good look, should have a good content, avoid the data which has no importance.

So it's been about 1 week since I created the blog, do you think I should be getting more traffic in such an early stage?

Also, I wrote on a topic that I know a lot about - muscle building and there's a lot of competition about that topic. Maybe that's holding me back.

first put your link in your DP Sig!. second do not depend on Digg. Digg is not going to help. concentrate on Stumble upon instead. Make sure you submit to quality article directories they come up better in google results and will drive traffic.

great blog - you've got some good content! I think that you need some more images - maybe a header image to dress the page up some. I'd also put some adsense ads on the right side, in that white space.

    Thanks, my priority is content.
I put the adsense ads on the top right space, but for some strange reason they only show when you view a specific blog entry, and not when you view the main page, I'm gonna have to work on that a bit, see what's the deal with it.

You can ask other bloggers permission to write an article for them. It is a good free way to drive traffic to your blog.

    Thanks,

I was happy to see that i got my first hit from google today.
The search term that was done had an overall of around 100 000 results,
and mine was in the first page the 4th or 5th result :D .
So that's good, I mean the keywords from the search were uncommon ones, so I'm not gonna get many hits with it, but it's all good.
I was wondering if there is anyway I can check where does my page rank on google search for certain keywords, and combinations of keywords, other than checking each combination of keywords manually

Take your time... but you're on the right track!

i would suggest you to give your blog URL in ezines. I mean write articles about that. if you are willing to spend some money then try bidvertiser.
