    Hey All,

I know some stuff already regarding seo, like se friendly coding, inbound links and all that.

But now I am going to market a dutch website, but how do I find out which keywords I should go for?

I tried overture, and they give out numbers, but how do I know what is a good number and what isn't? They say the higher the better, but what is high enough to go for? And how do I put these next to each other, I mean competition and searches, so I can see what I should go for. Like how many competition is to much etc.

Thanks ahead people, I appreciate it. The help on this forum has been helpful and I hope that will also be on this thread!

Higher is not necessarly better. I all depends on the ranking of your site. If it ranks well (high PR, etc.) you might be able to target popular keywords, but otherwise you should go for more uncommon keywords with little competition.

A new or not so high ranking page will not stand a chance against more established sites for popular keywords.

If you have the resources, look into getting software like micro niche finder or market samurai. Learn the ins and outs of the tool you purchased.

From there, enter your seed word or the broad keyword as it relates to your market. The software will then help you drill down and locate keywords that are low in competition.

You can do this with free methods as well.

Yikes!.. just noticed this thread is 3+ years old =/ fail

I would rather go for a less competitive keyword yet regularly if not high-searched on search engines
