I was getting about 400 visits per day steady for a few months. I had 2 sites in the same niche on page 1. These sites are on different IP addresses on different servers. I have been doing steady SEO, then 2 days ago the sites dropped back and the traffic down to a trickle. Not sure if it is caffeine people are talking about or just the fact I have screwed something up? I had done a few pings but this should not effect me? Anyone else experienced any changes?
No drop for me. You say you were on page 1. Where are the 2 sites now? What kind of SEO were you doing? Did you get a lot of new links? If so, were they high quality from well heeled websites or mainly free directories, forum sigs, blog comments? /*tom*/
No search stays exactly the same... it's static. The things you search for today will be exactly as tomorrow and exactly as they will be 5 years from now. Search is like time and water... it just stands still.
Thats crazy, serps change constantly Google caffeine is kickin in perhaps it hit your relevant datacenter and thats the bounce you see
I also had this as it is pretty normal. My site was taking off the rankings for a week then back onto first page on the next week.
Google has become very good with spotting cloaked sites, and cookie cutter web presences, hence many are seeing the sandbox effect mphorton2
Thanks guys for your info. I think Google have done a shake up in the niche I have been targeting .... moved a lot of sites off the front page which kind of sucks, but means I have to work things a bit differently to get back up there.
Yes, one of my big sites has been affected too. Barely gets any visits now from thousands a day. It's a vbulletin forum with Vbseo.
I have seen a drop in one of my site for past 10 days or so but the others have gained rankings so far.
