Watched it in the XL theater in 3D. Awesome! Tom is at his best. Wasn't sure about his co-star. Don't get me wrong, she was great, but I couldn't help but thinking that they probably put her there so that she couldn't or wouldn't outshine Tom. It didn't feel like they were a good match as a pair. Everything about this movie is what you'd expect from a good sci-fi blockbaster. Wouldn't mind watching it again. I'd say it's a step above Oblivion.
It is playing at the Drive-In theater nearby tonight. However, I have been unable to convince my wife to do a drive-in for years because of bugs and difficulty seeing the screen with today's windshields. Kids would have to go separately as you see nothing from the backseat, these days. We may go to the cinema tomorrow. Edge would be my choice, but I could get outvoted. Will let you know.
Sounds great, going to watch it now later next week. Wasn't sure about it as first as it seemed like another hollywood money making rip off. Thanks for the clarification.
Seen it last night. Awesome movie. Of course it's what you would expect from sci-fi, but I loved it. Definitely worth the IMAX ticket.
Felt the execution of the movie could have been done better. They had repeated the first few "loops" just a couple of times too often. I know the whole idea of the movie is to repeat the day over and over, but the starting part was overdone and the later parts felt like it went by too fast, especially when compared to earlier. Still a great movie, though. Definitely one of Tom's best in recent times.
Tom "gives his best" so much different than "Tom is or is at his best". It was an alright movie. Better than most Hollywood recyclables coming out but nothing to shout home about or even to recommend to friends, just nothing to make me turn away in disgust either. It would be my pick for one of the best movies of 2014 (so far)! Thought everything just worked so well, except for maybe the ending which although 'works' feels slightly cheap.
Well.. it didn't click for me. Too much of repeated scene. I know that was the core of story but I felt they could have twisted it more.
I am sorry to report, almost three months later, that I have yet to see the movie. Oh well, the DVD is probably due out soon...
