I got this message again today. i'm used to spam, luckily gmail sends it straight to my spam box, and it is automatically deleated in 30 days if i don't do it myself

If this user got each email individually it must of took them a looooooooooooooooong time to do so.

Let us know the name/email of that person.

I think only admin/mods have that list and I dont think they would sell it to anybody.
    We will investigate over it

I don't think so. Only the owner of digitalpoint would have the legal authority to sell the emails. The mail you (and many others, myself included) received was not from the owner of digitalpoint. I suggest you be very cautious & fully aware of the possible consequences of whatever you do, you can get into serious trouble acquiring & using the list without the owner's authorization.

    SPAM!
    It's all SPAM!!

    SPAM!

    to recap:

    1) at one point, those who chose to do so, left their email addy exposed for other members to see. there were two options in user CP for email: "hidden" and "DUH, here you go"...I had the latter selected

    2) some dirt bag harvested the emails and has since deluged those members with webmaster spam

    3) Shawn & Co. have since changed the profiles such that you will not be able to see member's emails...must use a form to contact a member now

but obviously those foolish enough to have their email out in the open (like me)...we are SOL :(

For those members who used a unique email address for DP

if you start getting webmaster spam to that email address I suggest you post the spam mail here, so

    1. We will learn who the spammers are
    2. It may have an effect on the list being used , since most of the people who purchased it are most likely DP members and will know they will get exposed on here as spammers

    Just my 2 cents

I contacted and got a response from the abuse department of NetVision, they forwarded the email to their subsidiary, 'Golden Lines':

    From: "Netvision Abuse Team" <abuse@netvision.net.il>
    To: "Zeeshan Muhammad" <filtered@filtered.example.com>

    Dear Zeeshan,

The IP of the sender is 84.94.13.161, obtained from the ISP Golden
Lines. I'm forwarding your spam complain to abuse@012.net.il, to
locate the sender and take the appropriate actions against that spammer.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Respectfully yours.

Looks like the spammers have either sold the list they scraped from DigitalPoint to 'Rapid Response Marketing LLC' (who have shown up in many unsolicited commercial email reports) or they harvested the email addresses themselves.

In any case, 'Rapid Response Marketing LLC' is now sending the following spam to all DigitalPoint users who have had their email address mined from this forum and the URLs I previously mentioned (WHICH STILL LEAK EMAIL ADDRESSES):
