Rules Just received an infraction :(

A seller was selling a website in the for sale forums. He did a good job of explaining it, very detailed. He forgot one thing though, the name/link to his website.

I asked if he could tell me what the link was as a reply in the forum post. I received an infraction for this?

I guess those are the rules but what is the point of having the forum if you can't ask questions? Is the idea that the original poster only make the offer but nobody should respond with any questions about what he is selling? Should no replies to the post ever be made, only PM's? I don't get it?

He said to contact him to receive the url because he didn't want to post it publicly, and any posts similar to 'interested, pm me the information' usually get infracted.

If you want to report those two posts, they'll probably get infractions too :)

The sticky in the forum clearly states the following:

"The buyer should be able to ask as many questions, stupid or otherwise. If the seller can't answer these honestly, or without hesitation. Take note."

It may surprise you but PM's are the way business is done in this forums :)

    LOL, Shawn's favorite question.

I know because I see the same fucking spammers posting 'thank you' posts day after day, after day and if they
got infraction after I have reported first, second and third 'thank you' post they wouldn't made another 30 of them.

    Example: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2040975
That thread was reported twice and yet OP has been continue to reply 'you're welcome' to dozen of 'thank you' posts
even thou that thread should be cleaned, locked or better yet deleted because it was started to promote OP own sites
    in wrong forum.

    :)

Simple, my post that asked simply for the link to the site for sale was deleted. Their posts that ask the same thing were not deleted.

Actually all sales thread have some questions but they are never ever infracted. Here it is like you post 50 questions in different threads and you get a infraction for one of them.

I just received another infraction for creating this post. Complaining about infractions is not allowed so I am going to drop this thread before I am banned.

This still does not tell you if they received infractions or not. Just because your post was deleted and theirs weren't does not mean they got away with it.

People like myself get infractions daily just for posting a specific thank you or letting them know they did something wrong in their post as a FYI. It's just another way to say "Bad bad, don't do it again". You live and learn, it's just a forum so don't take it personally.

I stopped complaining about infractions a long time back, even if they're given for flimsy reasons. There really is no point complaining

Means you're great at bitching :p

In my childhood days at DP I used to complain a lot and get a torrent of red reps, and an extra infraction on a couple of occasions :|

I would not bother complaining as it never does any good even if your in the right. Moderators dont back down and if you moan they hunt you down and give you some more IME
