Just Received a Weird Infraction

Now, I know that discussing infractions is not allowed (I think) and I know that it's the mods sole discretion if he will give me infraction or not, thats why I will not mention any details in here for now, but I just want to discuss my issue with other members of this forum.

I have just received an infraction for bumpung thread. In my understanding, bumping threads should be understanded as replying to very old (more than 30 days of posting) threads, but now I see that it is not the case. I have replyed to thread that was last posted yesterday. The thread started only on 19th February 2008 and it has been somewhat active until yesterday and now I found it through the search and replyed, but I've got an infraction a few minutes later. Is that normal? I suppose not, since I did not saw a limit of time that the rules state a thread should be inactive, a reply to be considered as bumping.

btw was the thread your own ?? if you bump your own threads to get them to the top of the forum you can get an infraction too..

 

I guess point 2 from the thread you gave:

has caused my infraction. However, I see this kinds of messages all over the place, but the rule is not so hardly enforced...

Issue resolved. Mods feel free to close this thread... I guess it was just my mistake to think that bumping was only caused by replying to old threads.

 

FYI I just checked and the infraction was for bumping a thread by telling someone you had sent them a PM. Since people know when you send them a PM the post was rather pointless and only served to bump the thread.
