Another great way I found about building link is: Press Release At best, free ones: 1) PRweb.UltimateBloggingCourse.com 2) Pre9.net 3) PreFree.com 4) Prleap.com 5) OnlinePressReleases.com 6) Afreego.com 7) Press411.com 8) Floridaytoday.com 9) I-newswire.com 10) softwarewire.com 11) Thomasnet.com 12) earthvision.com 13) Pressreleasespider.com 14) Xbiz.com 15) Quirks.com 16) Press.co.uk 17) Press-world.com They build both links and traffic. If your press release is news-worthy, you can get a lot of natural links as well, when people started talking about you.
I would second using some sort of software to manage it. Seo Elite or Web CEO or something of the sort that will automate most of this. It takes a lot of work to get these links manually. While SEO Elite could find you 100 possible sites, and whip out an email to each of those webmasters. Now the scraping isn't always accurate, but at least it gets you started down the road of link building. I just got Web CEO and I know it does the same sort of thing, I just haven't figured it out yet. MR
Although I am not a newby here to the forum, I am a newbie to SEO...what do you mean by "pick up links"? Do you mean that I make a page with links to all those sites on it? Wouldn't that help them and not me? Thanks.
By that he means find links. You don't make a page just research how your competitor has got links and there may be methods you can copy the same thing.
Here is a great free online tool you can use for this: http://www.linkvendor.com/seo-tools/domain-popularity.html
I thought this was a standard link building method, but judging from the responses well done for reiterating it!
This is the first method I ever used to get links! It still works great, too I remember finding some odd sites where you could get easy and free links (with PR)!
good way for getting link i have already using this for my site, with this way i became able to stand against my competitor
This is by far the best way to get close to your competitor but you should never forget to use the techniques your competitors don't use. For example, I've noticed that just a few of my competitors use article marketing.
I had great luck with a press release I did within months of starting my website ... it took a while to work, but it did. Also ... do free press release sites give you live backlinks? I ended up paying prweb.com like $275 for my press release and ended up getting hundreds of backlinks from various news sources. Will I have the same effect using one of these free sites?
