good advice, thanks. does anyone know how many pr1+ backlinks you need to boost your own PR to above 0?
Why? 1 would be enough i assume. You will just have to wait for visual PR to update. It usually happens a few times a year.
thanks for the tip mate i just found a realy good competitor link that i need to be there. thanks for sharing the info./
Sometimes with the information overload that we all face we forget about the basics that work and don't cost a lot of money!! Thanks for the reminder!
Thanks for the info mightyb! I like using aaron wall's link harvester (http://www.linkhounds.com/link-harvester/backlinks.php) to check backlinks
Yes it is a great tool that's around & used by many. Thanks for reminding those of us who know it & for pointing it out to those who don't.
Use Yahoo site explorer to find more links that are going to your competition, as Google doesn't show them all.
I do something similar to this but my new free tool of choice is SEO Spyglass. I was able to find a very neat tactic from a PR7 site of a forum member here. Going to try that on one of my center-hub mini-network sites soon.
I don't think it's possible to build 200 high quality links in 5 hours, no offense. Getting decent links usually involves interacting with a person, which invariably takes more time - either handwriting an email, or reading the instructions on how to submit, or writing a piece of content for them to link to etc. If I manage 3 or 4 good links an hour, I consider it a job well done. The trick of using your competitors for link ideas is a solid strategy though. I use SEO Elite to do the scraping, then you can sort the links by PR or Alexa rank, and work your way through the good ones and not bother with the spammy ones. There may be other programs that do the same.
My site is in the certain adult/social area that makes it possible for you to gain backlinks without having to contact anyone. Its as simple as filling in a forum. Kinda like lindumps. Id reveal more details but i'm trying to keep it quiet for a bit for competition reasons. The hard bit is finding these places because this concept is still quite new and there are not that many of them around. This is why i had to research my competition...
