    Thanks for the feedback. :)

Next time I'll probably post my press release for people to review before going all out :D

Someone on DP wrote the press release for about $20. It was a special offer where the usual price was $50.

A member of the site created the video.

If someone charged you $20 for that press release, I'd ask for my money back. In addition to laboured grammar in a couple of places, the last sentence in the last paragraph spells "television" wrong!

I'd have to agree with that. A better bet in the future is to pay more for a better press release and spend less on the PRweb option if you really want to use them (not always the best bet). You can even distribute effectively for free if you do it on your own, and get more coverage than PRweb will bring for the majority of niches. If nothing else, you're able to make edits in PRweb's releases, so you should at least go in and fix the minor errors and maybe get some of the actual news moved up to increase chances of coverage from it.

They did a poor, not even college grade C quality, job.

Next time, as you mentioned, ask for a review. You might get some of us who know PR to give you a couple, stressing the word couple, free tips. ;)

I would be interested to know how much the PR method works, does it drive much traffic, is it providing content for other article writers, what has been your experience, I have a string of sites, that I should consider using it with, that are either new or relaunched ... each has something worthy of saying, but I am just not sure what PR will do for me.

    Skribblez,

Best of luck, especially after you dished out some good cash. Can I offer some advice? In your next press release, try to remember to write your press release for journalists.

As mentioned above, journalists are concerned with who, what, when, where, and why. If you haven't done so in this release, in future releases, make sure that you include your main long tail keyword phrase as the header. Then try to include lesser longtail keyword phrases throughout your article.

Even so, you might still get a lot of traffic, which may be your main goal. There are quite a few things to consider when issuing a press release. In addition to what I have already mentioned, your goal should always be to establish yourself as an authority within your niche.

You should create numerous press releases no matter how seemingly insignificant. Get your business out on the wire often.

    For example:

You just upgraded your servers or have a specific reason for switching website hosting services...
    press release

You came out with a new product...
    press release

You are engaged in a new JV...
    press release

    The CEO just got engaged...
    press release

    You get the idea.

Paying for it every time may be out of the question. Still, get it out there if you think it is news-worthy.

I'm not saying to be overly frivolous though some of the examples I gave are frivolous. I just gave them for example sake so that you can decide what is worthy of a press release or not. That's up to you.

I'm looking forward to hear how your release is coming along; keep us posted.

Does that mean I pretty much stuffed up? :p

I saw some people who paid $80 for a PRWeb.com press release, and they received much more reads within only a few hours after going live?

Hey, Skribblez, I couldn't find your e-book download link. Then again, I just woke up. :)

How much is it? You said PDF download. ... Isn't that the e-book???

"I saw some people who paid $80 for a PRWeb.com press release, and they received much more reads within only a few hours after going live?"

Have you seen their actual stats? Are they friends of yours? If the answer is no to both questions, take it with a grain of salt. Maybe they did do that, maybe they didn't.

I don't know why they do it, but so many just make stuff up just to get attention. "Hey look at me" crap. I've seen plenty of such threads here.

Anyway, best of luck with it.

I forgot to ask...where all did your release get shown? If you don't know, shouldn't these press releases tell you?

Did it help generate any traffic to your site by any chance - or was it not worth it?
