Bill, I might suggest removing the required registration. The majority will just skip over directories that require registration. There are enough out there that don't require it, so most people won't bother. Just my two cents.

For me personally registration is a waste of time. ;) Nice directory!

I'm a little hesitant in participating in this thread as already being warned about so called "bumping." This is not my intention and believe I'm simply responding to other posts here.

Thanks for the positive feedback and suggestions. Most have been quickly implemented.

As an Internet "business" owner, why would you give anything away for free and not build a list? In addition, registration and validation greatly reduces spam.

This is certainly not my first project. The model is identical for all. Offer a useful product/service that includes a free option. Build traffic. Build a mailing list. Be consistent and establish a strong professional reputation. Then...you can sell anything and everything.

My purpose for posting http://myhoopla.com here is to simply get a few good listings and suggestions before opening up to my other businesses & databases.

By the way, the script is "indexu" from http://nicecoder.com This is not my affiliate url.............they have done an excellent job..........I strongly recommend to others.

Then again, it depends on what type of registration. This was relatively painless..username..password..email..code..Not too much of a problem. Thanks for the opportunity.
