Question: If your homepage has too many links as internal linking - can we consider it as sitemap as well?
Okay, thanks. I asked this since I came across a website which audits my site and happen to ask about sitemap - it says that homepage has too many links and is this my ...
Your sitemap may be a XML, ROR, TXT, HTML file. Whatever the file extension is, but your sitemap file consists the list of URLs(as each URL pointed towards a file of your site). Hope you are clear now.
Hi, Sitemaps are useful for large website with dynamic content . A sitemap can help you to index those pages which are not accessible by search engines crawlers bots . For small website if your pages are linked to each other then there is no need to create a sitemap . You can also create a html sitemap for large or small website which is easy for search engines and visitors to find the hidden pages on your website . Google webmaster account is useful for larger website where you can submit your sitemap.xml . For yahoo urllist.txt etc . Regards, Najmi
i think i clearly explain to him about sitemaps also have a look on the line "For small website if your pages are linked to each other then there is no need to create a sitemap"
Search on Google for free sitemap generators and you can get a sitemap created for your site in just minutes. You can then submit this sitemap to search engines like Google and Bing and get your links out there.
No it will not be considered as sitemap unless if you have 3 - 4 pages on your site and if your home page is linked with those 3 - 4 pages. I mean for 4 - 5 pages site it is okay. Sitemap is to get all pages data and guide Google where to go.
A site map (or sitemap) is a list of pages of a web site accessible to crawlers or users. It can be either a document in any form used as a planning tool for web design, or a web page that lists the pages on a web site, typically organized in hierarchical fashion. This helps visitors and search engine bots find pages on the site
You are little wrong here. Try submitting your sitemap.xml.gz (.gz archive) in Google Webmasters Tool.
