Quick questions. If I happen upon a fellow DP user's website and they have a row of adsense ads on their page, I feel it is my obligation to click on one of the ads to get them some revenue. Not sure if that is ethical or not . Anyways, if there are 5 or so in a vertical column, does the top ad give them the most money. I know it is like that on the adwords side for the advertisers, just didn't know if is the same for the adsense people. Thanks for answering this lame questions, but I has just been bugging me.
its just not done mate , we are talking real money here that people have to pay when someone clicks an ad , ok you think its just 5- 6 cents a click but i tell you this it all ads up to 100000000000 of $$$ in wasted revenue for these companies . and i have not seen any profe that that happens here on dp . hope this helped
From what I know you are correct, in a vertical ad layout, the top AD is usually the one that is paying the most and usually receives the most clicks. I believe you shouldn't click on the links on other peoples web site, especially if they are running AdSense unless you are actually generually interested in the link you are about to visit. If you just click it, they will probably not get the money, from what I have heard, after a click is made, the user has to stay on the web site he/she has clicked on for like at least 5 seconds for it to be considered a click, something like that... So you would just be getting their account potential flagged, not a good idea I believe lol.
I think we should not click if you feel obligated to click on one of the ads. You should click the links if you find that the ads are interesting or at least thinking that you might find some useful information in that link. From my understanding, the ads appeared in top position should give more money. However, it will still depend on what are those keywords or ads about. Some of them could offer you much lesser while other could offer you a higher payout.
Ya, ok that makes sense. I don't just go randomly clicking on links for the heck of it. Thanks for the info.
