I have noticed in the past 3 months quite a big change in seo.

    1) No longer it PR a good guidence for your site
    2) Over optermisation is much worse for you then ever before
    3) unique content and fresh content does not hold the same weight as previous
    4) you no longer need 500-600 words on a page to rank well, 100-200 will do just as good job
    5) small the page size the better

    anyone else agree or disagree?

    1. PR can be a guide especially for link building, although you need to check if its valid.

    2. SEs are getting more intelligent so over doing the SEO will not do you any favours.

    3. I think good content updated on a regular basis is pretty effective.

    4. Ive never found it necessary to have 500-600 words, a small amount of well written copy can rank pretty highly.

    5. Not sure what you mean on this item!

But your right theres been some good changes recently, which are more focused towards providing hopefully better or relevant results. ;-)

point 5 - i have noticed smaller pages (kb) seem to be doing better then before? in the past i have also said do not exceed 75kb max on a file size and in my industry i noticed this was about average. At this time i noticed small pages ranked well be very rarely go onto page 1 ... but in the past few months i have noticed more and more small pages doing very well?
Its just my thoughts but its something i noticed.

    Hey there,

I would not give too much thought to page size.

Crawlers do not mind images. They care about the alt and title tags of images though ;)

what do you mean alt and title tags on images?
i thought the alt tag was used on images and title tag was used on links?

Anyone want to correct or agree?

    Hey there,

Please read this article for a good explanation of title and alt tags.

    http://www.456bereastreet.com/archive/200412/the_alt_and_title_attributes/

They can be whatever you want them to be. Both of their purposes as you will see in the article. I usually set my alt text = title text, but that is just my personal preference. I would not consider that spam.

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters
