For months, I was waiting for the Page Rank to update, hoping I'd move up to PR5. Well, it finally happened. I run a football site. Anywhere between 20,000 and 35,000 page views per day, and rising (I had 10,000 per day in July). Alexa is 190,000. Uniques per day is anywhere between 5,500 and 8,500. My question is, what do I do now? I was waiting to move up to PR5, and now I'm a bit overwhelmed. Do I sell text ads? Look for new advertisers? If so, how much should I charge? I sold text links for $30-$40 per month before. How much can I increase that?
You shouldn't buy or sell links based on PageRank so your PR is irrelevant. There will be a few people who will pay for traffic though. Concentrate on that. - Matt
So, Page Rank is irrelevant in terms of pricing for links? I would have thought potential buyers would be more interested in PR5 instead of PR4, in terms of raising their own PR? There was a ticket agency that told me to get in touch with them once my PR was 5, so I assumed it was important. How much do you think I should charge per text link?
To lot of people its important. I think you can earn significant amount of money from a site like that. You can sell links monthly basis on the Buy Sell section here at DP. Other places are text-link-ads.com, adbrite.com etc.
