Hello guys, Im not sure if this is the right place to post this though. Sorry if its not.. anyway, i have recently put up a blog.. nothing is really specific about the topics inside it though, you can find any topics inside. can anyone give me some advice how to drive traffic and get my blog up on top on search engines in the key word "pinoy blog" or "pinoy community"? something that doesnt require much time and effort like posting and commenting to different forums and blogs and placing a link to my blog.. any services to recommend? something not expensive?
Thanks for the insight! . You really need to focus the content on Pinoy, and create articles based around that theme. Hopefully over time you will have enough quality content to attract some organic search visitors and get the ball rolling! I find sites are exponential, once the hard initial phase is over, getting decent keywords into the SERPs and increasing visitors comes naturally.

Its going to have to be done through building quality backlinks making sure that your desired keywords are the anchor text. Mix the anchor text around a bit so it looks more natural
You could create some Squidoo lenses and link to it from there or do some article marketing. Digg and Stumble Upon are great for getting you listed higher in the SE rankings too.
No offense, but if it was easy to rank high with not "much time and effort" we would all do it. Time and effort are the first 2 things you need, and the most important. Quality content, link building both take time/effort - and both will get you there.
Congrats and welcome to the blogging game or passion or whatever you wanna call it like the others have said keep up the content + spread the word around (Social bookmarking and such) + link building, get other people to link to you = HUGE TRAFFIC i mean those are the basic fundamentals of SERP and geting traffic, you can further do more on-site SEO (search these forums theres heaps of info) then just stick around, cause if you get through the first few weeks of struggles, i'm sure it'll pay off! i recently started my gaming blog too, getting about 50UVs a day now

I suggest you to keep posting interesting articles to your website/blog on regular basis. Write articles and submit them to article directories at least once a week to get high quality backlinks to your site. You can also write a press release if you have something newsworthy to share about your site.

Technorati is good, bu ti wonder why it don't update every time i ping around.... i don't know why. Try to visit other blogs too. Ask them to link back to you.
If the topics are varied you will need to group them into categories for better SEO and easy of use for your visitors. Pingoat and SocialMarker are free to use. Also find a Sitemap Creator with inbuilt pinging fucntion. Article Marketing can be good.
