He's on third position on that keyword in Google(download free psp games).

I believe that keyword has got HUGE search volume, and if his article is in top3, then obviously the author will get loads of traffic.

    Targeted traffic = $$$

He's second article is on first position on that keyword (how to download wii games). This guy knows pretty well what's he is doing :) Well done....

I hope someone can tell me how he did that :D

Free - keyword kiss of death lol :D

you are dead on...if they are looking for free... their pockets are lined with lint, dust and sand.......

    You are impressed with views???

Heres for a few days with one of my campaigns

    Clicks 5,182
    Impressions 3,343,489

All the impressions (views) do not make one rich lol

    It takes clicks and sales.....

    Peace!

Well I am impressed... for some reason I assumed he had a good CTR...
My articles get 30-60% CTR - which in his case would be about 350 000 clicks... However, it's wrong to assume that he actually got that...

    You're right ;)

I am still impressed though ;)

Do you think its the keywords he is using or do you think he is submitting his articles to search engines?

Man, even if his CTR sucked I am still impressed by the sheer amount of views. The most I have had on any one article so far is 779 and that got published on 3/19/2008.

oops I didn't see the figures properly, 0.2% sucks for both
    ppc and article marketing

    Both wise sparrows indeed...

    But

There is what is known as marketing which is the grand daddy of all, and within that segment, I aim to build peoples brands.

With brand building my 0.2% CTR is way too high

Using proper brand building methodology you want 0 clicks and 100,000,000 views, or at least I do lol....

Seriously though it probably sucks for articles and trying to make sales via PPC and thankfully I can report double digits for that aspect when I am using PPC for sales.

However in building awareness and brands, what I strive for, is to have the 'brand' subliminally inserted into the consumers mind...so that when it's time for them to buy a new motorcycle the brand name comes to mind for instance......

Free advertising rocks and it's not my fault Google Yahoo and Msn forgot to monetize for eyeballs :D

But yea youre both right ...it does suck as its way too high lol

    ;)

It is all luck and like you said "free" does mean that your viewers are unlikely to commit to any service, but I still wouldn't mind that traffic myself.

I would suggest the success is due to a few factors. Look carefully at his keyword structure and placement. He also uses lsi techniques. He is in a hot hot market. Do some detective work, look at his advanced bio...he sure gave up the stop smoking and play the guitar niche in a hurry.Who doesn't like free? There is also another factor few consider and seldom talk about. That is linking to his article. with a knowledge of advanced web 2.0 techniques it is possible to control and boost google rankings.

Most people use articles to link to sites. Generating links up to articles posted will boost the article in Google rank, therefore increasing page views. Like him, I use my advanced bio to direct traffic to my blog via a freebie
    give away.

Article marketing may be old school, but it is still on every 'guru's' list of top traffic techniques somewhere.
