    Someone told me that by doing only link building we can get 1st page rankings on Search Engines. Is it right?

    No, only link building doesn`t guaranties 1st page ranking... you should make good SEO for getting there... Of course link building is big factor, but not the only main...

    Depend on the keyword, if the keyword is in low competition, then it is not hard to rank #1 by just doing the link building, some can even rank #1 by just do the onpage SEO without the offpage SEO. It all depends on the competitive of the keyword

    - Write emails to other bloggers/ website owners in your niche offering them to guest post
    - Write content that is deliberately designed to attract links towards it.

    No, it's complete bollocks.

    There are over 100 different indicators taken in to account for each PAGE (not domain), and for each query each page has a different relevance, and for each person the results are tailored to them based on search preferences, history, social circles and a variety of different metrics.

    Well, in order to get proper and long lasting ranking in search engine like Google, you have to do complete SEO (Search Engine Optimization) activities like:

    1) Complete On page Optimization
    2) Complete activities of Off page

    try to embed your main and major keywords in on page optimization and then start off page activities on it, you will see your keywords will appearing in ranking accordingly, if your are working at less competitive area then definitely you will get ranking in some less time period of you can say some 2 to 3 months, less or high. But if you are working for some very competitive area then definitely, it will take time to rank your keywords ...

    Both On page and Off page work go simultaneously. So only link building will not solve the purpose completely.

    2. Backlink
    3. Blog comment
    4. Diractory submition
    5. Social media markitiog.

    No link building is not a way throgh which you can handle your website completely. Some other respective way also are there like search engine submission, social media marketing, on-page seo and other through which you have to work for your website. which enable better seo for your website.
