Hi, After months of lurking I decide to join this forum. I joined because I'm trying to develop my understanding of how to make money online with websites, keywords and adsense and all of that. I plan on buying a small website just to see if I have it in me to operate and to get familiar with, also to see If I can generate a small income. I have about $200 to invest so can anyone direct me to a thread/sticky for newbies.
Hi , if your started out you should pick a niche/subject your have an interest in, as it can become boring very quickly when you first start, it is a steep learning curve to start with, my advice would be to head over to youtube and watch some videos on setting up your first word press website and webhosting, you will need web hosting no question about it, host gator prob the best for new comers, as you can get the first month for $1 dollar then its around $12 a month inc tax, you can have as many websites as you like on there but you may not want to do that for seo reasons, focus on one thing at a time or it can become very over whelming, you can buy a site ready made or make one your self from scratch the latter in my opinion is the best option as you will a lot very quickly And my final piece of advice is to TAKE ACTION !!! dont over think things !!! dont worry about things being perfect just get it out there, the more you do something the better you become at it !! cant remember who said it but there is a quote "perfectionism will leave you broke" take action take action take action !and welcome to the site ! youtube will become your best friend
Thank you for sharing some advice, I think i have a niche in mind, I think Im just scared to set up. I want to buy a ready made one then find out the basic's from that then make some from scratch. But thanks a lot for taking the time out to reply to my thread.

I'm not sure but i dont think that you would get a good site for that sort of money, a site with no content and basic design would be around $200 and you would still need to host it somewhere, i may be wrong here i havent bought a site in a very long time, maybe you could try blogging first ? easy to use and free and blogger allows you to have affiliate links and ad sense, and the skills you learn will be transferable to other content systems, what ever road you i hope u have a great success
