My computer is a quad core with 4gb of ram and thats enough, I can play and do nearly anything on it. 12gb of ram for worms armegedon which takes like 256mb ram is to much!

I will say a 12 gig RAM in Xp machine for home use a real waste....wOTEVER home based application or game you run they will never require 12 gig...

    12 gigs of ram?
don't think that xp could handle this.
As I remember it's limited to 3 gigs.
    how do you do that?

Or you could do it for fun. When I first built my PC, I was told 2Gb was overkill and unnecessary, so I bought 8GB and I've never used even close to a quarter of it. And I just ordered another system which will also have 8GB. All I really use my PC for now is MSN and Word and occasionally do set excercises for Flight Sim. I've had a server with 32GB of RAM and I used it for a test site which was password proteced and accessed just by me.
People always overdo it, it just happens.

Of course, then there's the situations that actually require it, such as here - DP runs on 120GB RAM with 40 CPU cores and still fails now and then...

    I admit.. So do i! :)

It has office and excel on there too so the government would think it's a businesss machine :)
