In my expereince, hard disk speed matters most isntead of ram, so i would rather invest in having a seperate superfast SSD hard disk for OS only apps on a different harddisk. that's how i get 32 seconds xp boot time on pentium 3! wiht 384 MB ram, also turn off unneeded services ( there are just 4-6 services required)

Nice system. Even with 12gigs you're still bound by the speed of the hard drive. Until everything loads into memory you're still waiting on the hd.

I wouldn't mind having a solid state hd.

    What??

Do u use these systems or do you sell these things off?

12 Gigs of RAM is entirely unnecessary for any system running on our current OSes and XP, for sure, never uses more than 1 GB even if you flush out entire OS into the RAM and work.

We would definitely love to have a look at these monster machines. Take some time and do post their pics.

I'm gonna use the computers to play games with my little nephews and nieces. We haven't decided which games yet..but we'll probably play Worms Armegeddon. It'll be written off as office expense. :)

re:SgBoise: I did buy one Solid State drive but it didn't have a casing so I had to wait for that to arrive. It's here now so I'm getting ready to load an OS on it. I'll do testing once they are all up and running.

i'd rather spend money on ssd, with all those performance, its all useless unless you have a fast hd (not talking bout raptor hd's)
