Just in a month PR update or April Fool, Whats happening at G

This is not another PR update thread, but i want to know the opinion of people about Google being so quick to update Page Rank. Since, this is first time Google has changed PR in such a short while and also, Its april, though not 1st April, but sounds bit surprising.

Also, from google giving so much time to update PR and making Toolbar, it seems like google still thinks that Page Rank is an important factor.

I launched a website just 20 days back and it has a Page Rank. Its something to feel happy about that Google is updating its data so Quickly. Or maybe its

In all, its a good news as 20 websites of mine which i launched 40 days back have got a PR 4

Also, i read that Matt Cutts is leaving Google and joining Yahoo

Its good news for you. i have also seen changes for few pages of my site. But, it looks like Google has shifted some data on some datacentres.

Not any shift, but this is the data for totally new domains that i launched and they have all got a PR on around 20 data centres,

Don't give Google any ideas!!!! Remember, Matt asked them to do another PR update!!! Now we all know who to go to if we want another PR update!!!

 

I was shocked to see so much of Green on my toolbar and just came to forums to check what is happening.

And people here are already reporting the same. So it seems like a good news that PR is updating more frequesntly.

I would love it, if the SERPs also change with such a frequency. It will help a good deal in SEO efforts. Though things will become more competitive.

 

I agree that Matt might have suggested this update, but i think there are lot of other people who help in making decisions in GooglePlex.

And, i think of this as some kind of strategy change at Google, Maybe frequent updates are a thing we will see in future.

 

I just checked and for the first time I see the same data for all 73 datacenters. Wow - finally rolled out... Time for gnashing of teeth for the next update...

 

I also think that this is strategy change at Google, I have seen MSN updating their index more frequently and making changes to SERPs compared to Google.

Also, i would like to point here, that having a PR update freqently suggests that Google still gives importance to PR and its not as de-graded as some SEO professionals believe.

I dont believe this. One of my very new websites (a month old), according to the live PR, has gone from PR 0 --> PR 6
Lets hope that they maintain that PR update cuz I have noticed that there are some weird changes even in the SERPS lately, with old data (previous 2 months) showing up on google searches.

 

I also checked again and its on ALL the datacentres, And this is something i have never seen before.

all the time i used to check from MCdar tool, it was having variation at many data centres.

I dont see a backlink update yet, but having a PR 6 is a real good deal for you. I have only Pr 4 and PR 5 for few of my new websites

And such a quick update was something i didnt expect. This time, i am very happy to have such a quick PR on my new ventures.

Is google rewarding new websites and webmasters

Its great to check the things at 73 datacentres compared to a few in MCdar. but i still love all the MCdar tools

 

Not for me, no. The most recent update had not been rolled out to all the data centers, so even four hours ago I was seeing three different PRs for the same site depending on which datacenter I was looking at. They are all in sync now.

 

many people have reported a PR 6
i think its becoming easier to get a PR 6 now

 

The new PageRank is displayed on all the data centres and on also on the toolbar which makes it more evident that a PR update is here.

Also, i have checked other Pr check tools, but all of them are giving the old data.
