I've just had an "enormous" backlink update from Google this morning, totally unexpected. My site jumped from showing 24 at the link:www.domain.com command to 123. Am very pleased, but I'm not seeing any significant shift in my rankings as a results of it.
There are a few threads on this already buddy http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=71998 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=71901 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=71936 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=72000 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=71985 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=71942 lol And there will be more!!
Some big baclinks updated, but not for all sites. Some only get a pair of backlinks, while other have now double.
Very nice! Amazingly enough, a site I launched about 2 weeks ago is already a PR3. How that happen, I'll never know.
rofl I used to do that too and I got a pasting too! Don't worry about it. It's all part of the excitement! I think it's hilarious the hype it causes when it doesn't actually mean anything.
I just check another of my sites. Toolbar is at PR5, site is 2 weeks old and there are hardly any links. If this sticks it will prove PR is useless. Totally undeserved.
WOW!! My new site has gone from pr0 to pr4!!! Only just over a month old! (www.theafricangreyparrot.com) This is my best pr so far. I think I know the strategy for getting good pr now!! Notting
PR doesnt matter though. It's traffic that matters and sales! Unless you're buying and selling links PR is just a statistic.
I know there is no technical value to PR - however, I've found it useful in terms of how well I've been doing at securing backlinks to achieve those sales.
