Just grabbed a 4 letter .net listed in Google's 2nd page and means something: HELP

    Hehe, lucky day!

I just registered a 4-letter .net domain that is already on Google's page 2 for the thing that is in the domain name. So when I type "LLLL," then, on Google's page 2, this llll.net appears.

Apparently, it is a domain that was deleted 2 months ago. I am so much hoping that Google will not immediately decrease the site's rank. If not, I think, with a LITTLE seo work, it can easily rank #1 for that keyword. Coz it has no seo made so far, but it is still on page 2.

I immediately prepared a page for it. I hope G does not de-index it or lowers its rank. What do you guys think?

The keyword (= domain name) has also a very good search volume on Google Trends.

Right, llll is not the actual keyword, ls stand for letter. So it is a 4-letter domain. Everything is great and stuff, but I have no idea if Google would drop that domain from its rankings since the domain was deleted for 2 months. Right now, it is on the second page of Google, among 6 million results for the keyword in the domain. If I do some seo work, I am sure it would rank #1 UNLESS Google drops it for the reason I just mentioned. What do you guys think?

you might as well say the name its not like its going to affect your ranking, the only way we will know is if you tell us the keyword.

If it was deleted 2 months ago and is on the 2nd page, I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

Even if Google decreases its ranking, after building some backlinks and doing SEO work, it will again have a good ranking with the extra help of domain name.

Look at that. I own the website which ranks #1 here. I did not build so many backlinks but domain really helps me. If you are eager about that domain, surely you will have the success.

It's a tricky business, IMO. There were pages indexed by Google that will not exist anymore. Maybe you could look in G cache to find the indexed pages, if they are still indexed and try to create some pages with the same URL with a similar topic.

LOL! And here I am, going through the serps, looking for it! :p

Gratz on snagging it. If interested, PM me the url and I'll see if any kewl ideas strike me on how to use it. What's the competition on it?

It's not porn.net or suck.net or something like that, is it? I mean, when you say 4 letters, I am assuming you mean a 4 letter acronym, and not a four letter word? Cause if it's a word, your next few vacations probably just got paid for :D

Either way, get content, any content, up there fast. Look for the old linking structure, see if there are any deep links, and if so duplicate the urls and put something up there.

for that keyword it will rank better if you optimize but you may have some difficulties on reindexing of the new content google has a filter on dropped and catched domains.

One reason not to give a direct link will be to dilute the theme of the word and inbound link relevance quality.

I will say that I have 100% confidence that you will experience a drop in serps at some point once you add content. I cannot say how long before you notice the impact - could be 1day, 1 week, or 1month... but you will drop down (or drop out) of serps for a period between 3days and 1month normally.

During this time google will re-evaluate the domain due to change of ownership for various things that will include whether or not the theme has changed, what search terms are now applicable with the content on the site, any new wave of links etc etc.

Too many factors to determine. However, with some luck it will return to the same position with relative ease and some SEO work could propel it upwards. There is no guarantee, it is down to whether the site will pass the rank algorithm to merit an increase in serps for that word.

All I can say is good luck, hope you get it developed and get it ranking well for your chosen keywords and phrases. Just do not aim to get links too quickly as it can cause the site to undergo more algorithm checks - each check giving a new score ranking and each check bringing its own risk whether it rises or falls in the serps.
