Just got my new site index'd in less than 3 hours.

I just launched a new site onto my network and it was index'd within 3 hours of putting up a page on it. (It's not officially launched, I just threw up a temporary page with no content until the coding is finished.) Do you think it's luck or does Google like my site? My main network site (the forum) is only about 3 months old as well.

Don't think it's just about luck, you might have linked your network to the new site and the bot was just there ;)
    However, Good for you dude.

That's kinda what i figured.. on many of my old sites though, even after a bot had crawled the site it took a few days to show up.

getting indexed is the easy part. Just submit to digg.com and bam you're in unless your site is very bad. Getting ranked and getting traffic is the hard part :)

Killer is right, but that is still a very quick time to be indexed, I have never been indexed in less than a day honestly. Must just be lucky timing.

Well of course it is luck, because you said you just threw up a temporary page with no content.Google doesn't like sites with no content, they only like unique content sites.

Hardly true.. it's impossible for Google to tell if a sites content is unique or not. If i happen to post the same info on my site (by chance) as another site, how is google supposed to know whether or not I copied the content or i made it myself.

    What!?

Of course Google knows whether the content is unique or not.
Google go on time frame, the person that publishes the information the quickest is the person that gets ranked first in most cases. If you copy content that was indexed in Google a few days ago onto your site now, Google can easily find which person published it first.

You may want to rephrase your answer.
