After 2 years of making X,XXX amount/month with them they've canned me for low quality traffic! To me this correlates to the low quality ads they serve me... but what's done is done! Anyhow, my acct was terminated on the 24th @ noon, however my payment went into pending (sending) status the previous night. Will I get that payment as scheduled? I know for the money that I made this month I could be looking at 90 days to get that, but would they even be able to hold money that seems like it was already moving?
Bogus deal! too bad to hear about that... I imagine you didn't keep all your eggs in one basket from the sounds of how long you have been doing this. I personally don't have any information about the payment, but all I can say is that I hope things truly work out for the best in your favor.
Im sorry to hear that, i haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but its never nice to hear of something happening like that. Sounds like you were doing alright for yourself while it lasted though.
Sorry to hear about that. I hope you'l get your pending payment. It's really scary because it can happen to anybody.
The reason they gave was: 1. Suspicious click activity. 2. Advertiser conversion rates. 3. Overall quality of leads generated on your site. But after 2 years of consistent stats and not really making many changes to how I was using them it doesn't really make any sense. I figure that's just what they tell everyone when they terminate them. To me, I feel like since I've been with them for 2 years earning decent money they could have warned me first, or advised me of changes that I should make... just doesn't seem like good biz practice! But, this game rarely is I guess. Anyhow, I'll let you know if I get this payment because I always hate when people don't come back to tell what happened. Which is the main reason I had to start this thread.
The economy hasn't been doing that well over the last few months and when times are tough they cut the little guys.
They make money from advertisers, you can have all the publishers in the word but if you don't have advertisers you're screwed .
They never accepted me to begin with. I hate when publishers deny people for low traffic. They should just pay you based on the traffic you do have. It's sad that Adsense is the most stable program I've ever used, seeing that I've made so little from it.
That really sucks, I hope this isn't the start of a trend. With the economy cooling down many advertisers might stop spending money.
Well, I did receive that payment this morning. However, I also received a reply from the following email I sent them: Mary, I just received a termination letter for my YPN acct (ID XXXXXXXXXX). I fully understand that you guys have the right to do this at anytime, however I feel as if I've been very compliant to the rules of the program. Any, and every time I've received any sort of letter questioning my compliance I've quickly fixed the problem. As a good standing member of the program for over 2 years I would like to continue participating. I would rather figure out a way in which I can make changes to better serve the goals of the YPN program then to be terminated. If there is anyway we can come together and find a way in which I can remain in the program I would more than appreciate this. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing back from you. The response I received was: As part of our efforts to ensure high-quality traffic for our advertisers, we continuously monitor publisher accounts, revenue and attributes. Your account has been reviewed carefully, and while we appreciate your participation, we cannot reinstate your account during the beta period. When evaluating publisher quality, we consider various factors, including sources of traffic, conversion metrics and advertiser feedback. We have determined that your traffic has not produced the level of quality we are striving to achieve within the beta period of this product. Please note that our conversion and quality metrics are considered proprietary by Yahoo!, and will not be disclosed. Please understand that this decision is final and will not be considered for appeal. Again, at this time we are only conducting the beta version of Yahoo! Publisher Network. The general release for Yahoo! Publisher Network has not been disclosed at this time, but we encourage you to participate in our future releases. Feel free to check back on our Web site for announcements. So I took a little statement from the letter and searched it... of course it's a auto-responder! Plenty results popped up with the same letter wording. Sure sucks being a lil guy!
I got canned last year for the same bogus reasons. The letter they sent you is a copy and paste generic response. There is a reason why yahoo isn't number #1. being "beta" for over 2 years is part of that failure.. good luck to ya
Important thing in this is you got your payment. There are a million other options for your advertising or affiliation. The unfortunate thing in this is now you have to learn about them and optimize your site around them.
Maybe they are trying to close out accounts to save a few bucks. According to a webpronews post, there might be some layoffs at Yahoo. And again there is talk that there might be a buying out of Yahoo - speculation of a Yahoo takeover - another webpronews post. Possible companies vying for Yahoo are Microsoft, News Corp/Fox News who also owns Myspace, AO 'ell, CBS, Viacom. So I am sure they are trying to close and tie up lose ends. Even if it means accounts such as yours. Sorry to hear about the closing of your account and the pending payment. You should email and ask possibly to find out if you get the payment. I am sure you will receive your last payment.
Welcome to the world of crappy customer service :-P. Anyways, that sucks that you got canned. Maybe you should call and talk to them instead of being stuck with the auto-response.
that is what bush's economic stimulus plan is supposedly going to prevent... the question is will it work
