How's the content on your sites? All original, i.e. written by you? Any MFA's in your portfolio?

Nope, but about 95%+ traffic is US. I called my rep a few months ago and he said I was fine with that and not to worry about the targetting.

All original written by an employee, checked via copyscape. No MFAs in this account ;-).

I am really leaning on the international traffic for the cause just because someone reported they got banned here also and his site never used geotargeting and others with unrelevent ads that do geotarget have not got a boot. This is just my personal observation though.

SEO Jeff: they are terminating non-converting publishers - we are spending several $100/mo on geotargeting and we got banned.

I notice a lot of publihsers keep saying it's because of low converting and geo targetting, that gets them banned.

What if, that's not really the reason? I'm really suprised that no one has been talkign about clickfraud or anything like that...I mean YPN is a CPC program, yet everyone that gets booted is booted for low conversions and geo targetting to the wrong audience...does that seem kinda strange?

I think it is STUPID if they are booting people based on Conversion.. YPN isn't a CPA program it is CPC... you paid for a click and you got a click... transaction done as long as you aren't doing somethign fraudulent or clicking your own ads or whatever then you gave them what they asked for..... I think it is a lame excuse as a CPC network to boot people for conversion.... I understand CPA but CPC it is a click that you asked for pertaining to certain crowd... now maybe the conversion is bad because Y doesn't show relevant ads so people with sites aren't going to convert well but as a publisher you ahve the choice of showing a non target WELL paying ad or a targeted low paying of course your going for the money... :) to me its a problem Yahoo needs to fix and not by booting people.... BTW i haven't been booted... atleast not yet :)

With all these account closings, I'm hoping they post something about this @ the YPN blog. I'm sure I'm not the only publisher wondering, "Should I be worried? Am I next?"

Thnx hdpt - I've been with them since around that time too and I thought I was safe b4 this thread since they didn't bother me the 1st three months. Now, I must be very careful.

I have a friend that was banned too.... Same traffic reasons. How can they expect traffic to convert when they are showing Ohio lawyer ads to people in New York?

My targetting was actually very good. I doubt conversions was the true reason. I actually am an affiliate for some of the ads and it converts pretty dang well in my opinion.

You cannot expect a high conversion rate when the ads they generate are not targeted in the first place so the problem is at least partly YPN's fault, I think the fair answer would be for them to just tell you to remove the ads from the low converting website and not cancel your account. I have posted about this problem on the YPN blog and would encourage eveyone else to do the same. If they get enough feedback about the problem maybe they will do something about it.

Just quit clicking your ads lol. I own many many myspace sites. Most of them serve up 5-10k uniques a day. I've followed the rules from the get go and nothing has ever been said to me. If you play by their rules you have nothing to worry about.
