Hello there; I have been with 2Checkout for almost 6 months. However they have anti-fraud system which is COMPLETELY USELESS, I received some charge-backs. The problem is that I'm a PHP programmer and I'm selling my scripts, after the payment is done then the customer can download the product, a few days later (Sometimes a few months later) they file a charge-back and unfortunately they win EVERYTIME ! 3 Days ago I received this from 2CO "The following notes have been added to your account. Please review this information and take corrective action, if needed by: as soon as possible. Details: During a recent review of your account it was determined that your chargeback percentage (2.60%) is too far above our allowable limits (1%). This email is a two week notice for the closure of your account. The account will be closed and any remaining funds will be reviewed for release in 90 days. I’m afraid you have to find some other solution for your business needs. We wish you the best of luck with finding a suitable e-commerce partner." So, I lost money due charge-backs and their useless anti-fraud system and they are also closing my account. :/ The main issue is that I'm from Egypt and PayPal is banned in my country and 2CO was almost my only option. - I gave Payza (Formerly Alertpay) a try. But it seems they only accept Visa/Bank wiring but no MasterCard of America Express or PayPal ! - BlueSnap (Formerly Plimus) looks suspicious and have exaggerated fees but they do accept PayPal and many other payment methods. - Google Checkout and Authorize.net doesn't accept sellers outside the US or UK. - And finally Moneybookers which is probably my best shot but they doesn't accept PayPal and I have heard they have a little complex payment processing procedure which may drive my customers away. :/ 2Checkout was a simple and easy way for my customers to pay and available in my country ! After telling you my boring story I have a couple of questions and I hope someone with experience can help me. 1- Is there anyway to re-use 2Checkout? I'm already working on a new project and was going to start selling it separately on a new domain. I contacted them and they said that I can use the service as individual anymore. I have company based in Egypt can I register an account as a representative for that? 2- Is there any trusted Payment processor that accepts major Credit Cards and PayPal? That's all. Thanks for reading. Best Regards
You should try E-junkie.com or Click2sell.eu. E-junkie charges you on a monthly basis, while the latter only charge you per transaction. Get to know about their terms though. Hope this helps. That could really be frustrating, sorry.
hi i could use some help with a merchant bank / payment processor, i have a new business, selling monthly subscriptions to a sports arbitrage trading program, i have swikey up and working and libertyreserve, but i would like a better one than liberty, and advice would be appreciated, thank palindon
Do you mean you can not use 2Checkout any more as an individual? Have you tried Payoneer? Payoneer gives you a prepaid Mastercard after you sign up for an account but I believe you have to have your customers pay you through through one of Payoneer's partner sites it's not like Paypal or Skrill. Otherwise Skrill Moneybookers is your only option. I would investigate why your customers were initiating charge backs. Is the customer that initiated the charge back still using the code you sold to them?
No I didn't use Payoneer. And I don't think PayPal will help me since my country is banned in it. I have contacted Skrill and still waiting their reply. None of my customers issued charge backs due to non-satisfaction. The card holder does the charge back because the payment is used by fraud or they are fraud. so 2Checkout caused the problem by their useless anti-fraud system and they cost me money and effort and now closing my account ! They still use my code and when I try to contact the webhoster indicating that they use non-licensed copies of my software, they don't help :/. I'm new in this and really got very disappointed especially that I'm working on new project and I'm afraid of both piracy and fraud.
The card issuer doesn't automatically initiates a charge back unless the card holder initiates a dispute with the creditor or financial institution who issued the credit card to them that claims somebody else fraudulently used their credit card without their permission. Did your customer use a relative's or somebody else's credit card to make the purchase without their permission? Did the customer used their own credit card then initiate a charge back after you delivered the code or software to them? You say you're new at this; did you have the customer sign a client agreement or let them test the software on your demo server before transferring the code to their server? I'm only trying to help you out so you avoid going through this whole ordeal again.
Using for years these billing sites, for distributing software licenses and related services: Plimus Avangate ShareIt For lowering fraud rate, implement a license control system so licenses can be disabled if chargeback occurs. Also track order IPs. Let site visitors know about this.
Moneybookers just replied to me and they refused to approve my merchant account without an obvious reason. Actually I don't know if the customer uses his relative's credit card or his. Also I don't know how 2CO check payments for fraud. I use IONO system to deliver the files and I created my own licensing system but I didn't connect it with my server. I sell a clone script for a famous website. The customer usually goes to clients area and creates his invoice then pay and download after approval. I tried to ask some of them for ID and Credit Card scans but most of them refused and suspected me which made me continue with risk. The demo is working on my server and I don't move the files to their servers. They download and installation instructions available within the script files. I also don't have customer agreement to be signed and I don't know the impact of something like on business. Many customers fears identity theft and they refuse to do it. I know about plimus and unfortunately their fees are very exaggerated. I currently sells a clone script and I don't know if this will work with avangate or shareit. I need to read more about them to learn exactly how they work. My new project is a complete new idea and isn't a clone I think it won't have any legal issues but I'm still working on it.
And I have heard about Liberty Reserve. I don't if it's good or not and if customers trust it. But as I'm read in their website they don't have charge backs at all! Also their fees are very reasonable. Any suggestions?
I would suggest Liberty Reserve like USP45 has recommend. You should contact Liberty Reserve to find out what their transaction fees are.
