Just got a strange message from Ad Network

This is to let you know that during a revalidation process of your
site, co-op ad network ads were not found on the following page:
    http://www.mysite.com/my-file.asp.

Your ads have been taken out of the rotation until it has been
corrected. You can revalidate your site manually by logging into
    http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ad-network/

    -------------

OK, so that sounds legitimate, right?

Only problem is that "my-file.asp" doesn't exist (never has, and there's no link to it on the site...anywhere)

Of course, I quickly just copied another file and renamed it "my-file.asp", but what's the deal here?

My ads are going out of rotation because of a page that doesn't exist, never has existed, and isn't linked to from anywhere on my site?

Anyone have this happen before and, if so, when's the fix coming?

Do a check at google and see if that page is indexed.

So the page DID exist at one point...did some more research into it. It was created in August 2003 and I took it offline in May, 2004 and it STILL shows up as a supplemental result in Google.

I didn't think supplemental results meant anything in the Network, eh?

Also, there are *hundreds* of pages that I removed at that same time, so I suspect this will probably keep happening...

Any way to avoid that? I would think Google wouldn't show pages that are so long removed.

Fryman - I concur with your "Kiss my butt, Google" mantra...and that's one scary looking dog, man.

You will have to request that Google gets these out of the index or you have to tell them by means of a 301 that these have moved/been deleted.
