i have been trusted premier seller with indian paypal and for over 5 years i never got a single chargeback. Now today, a US buyer sent over 15 chargebacks and it kind of freaked me out. He bought about 15 submissions of $25 each for the month of july/aug and now i am chargebacked. I approved and published all his submissions and dont know why he is filed for chargebacks for jul and aug months. It seems he made all his payments using credit card. i am so worried here. i know its impossible to fight intangible chargebacks with paypal, but all i could do is uploaded all email correspondence and website screenshots to paypal to resolve the issues. i dont know how it will turn out. Has anybody has similar experiences and have you won any chargebacks
single one. i know that paypal levies a chargeback fee of $10 in addition to refund, so i will be losing a lot more. it isnt money i am worried about, but these chargebacks may hurt my reputation as a seller. i have written email to buyer and i really dont know whether he is a fraud or genuine buyer. he has been in recent correspondence by email couple of times and he seemed to me a genuine buyer. dont know what to figure out.
Paypal emailing me of the chargeback they received with case number. i have checked the buyer and it seems they run a SEO company in US. oh dear! now 20 chargebacks.
Did you contact your buyer for the reason he filed so many chargebacks? Did you deal first time with the buyer or you had done deal anytime back?
1. yes, i sent couple of emails and till now no response because of sunday i think. 2. i have dealt with him for the past 1 yr, no such problems, its just that i got payments reversed for whole jul/aug and i lost over $500.
See its also possible the chargebacks happened due to Paypal fault. My one freind had case 6 months back.He bought some links of Pagerank sites from four sellers at DP.After buying links,He sent payments to all sellers and suddenly after 30 minutes of sending payment,he saw at his paypal account 4 disputes were opened(disputes were to 4 people he had sent payment) and after talking to Paypal, all were solved. As you are saying that you have dealt with them for 1 year and no problems so between you and them there will be good communication ,so I think it may be due to Paypal fault also. I hope your problem gets solved soon.Good Luck
If the buyer is having long term relationship with you, then definitely he wont asks his Credit Card provider for the charge back. It may be due to any other reasons. So, first contact the buyer and discuss with him. Mostly, this may be the fault at the Credit Card provider in my opinion.
You meant paypal reputation? If yes, then don't worry. Reputation number has not updated for over 3 years.
well thats very sad, and the more sad thing is that paypal will NOT help you to get the funds back because it was for an INTANGIBLE item, no matter what proof you give to them, i was also having a similar case, when one of the guy paid using credit card and later after 1 month, he initiated chargeback with his CC company, it was for $28, after 3 weeks or so, i received an email that since i wasn't under the Seller Protection Policy, i.e. the item was intangible, hence i will have to pay for it, and they just not deducted $28 but paypal charged me $10 more on top of it, making me a loss of $38 total for that transaction, that $10 was for chargeback settlement fees, i mean WTF! so it could be possible that you also have to pay like $10 x 20 chargeback, on top of the chargeback amounts....
Actually, chargebacks are hard to win. But, don't worry ; if you have strong proofs then you can easily win. Good luck.
Update: i contacted my client and as it turns out there has been a miscommunication in their office. They contacted AMEX to reinstate the charges back. i dont know how long it will take.
dont know what paypal will be saying. still i havent got back the money so problem isnt solved yet. My client said they contacted amex on friday to reinstate all transactions and till now nothing hasnt happened.
