Re: Google ruling the web. Companies come and companies go. Maybe I'm old (thirty) but I remember the day when Yahoo was the only game in town and Netscape wasn't far behind. While Google may be the biggest company on the planet (this year) it hasn't been that long since Microsoft ruled the Internet. So don't get too hung up praying to the Google Gods... the next big thing could hit the net tomorrow. ^F^
....and that could be baiduspider as the Chinese like to roll over pretty much everything. Watch out Google!
Link building is hard work. Think I'm going to just have to hire someone else to do it by the looks of all the work you guys put into it.
wow , it is actually surprising me, that you are searching for back-links and you have your signature free from backlinks
Haha well said! Joining any community forum such as DP can get yourself backlinks just by posting away
Forum backlinks, blog backlinks give me a freaking break. I never seen anyone rank number 1 for keyword from leaving comments in blogs. Try creating articles at web 2.0 sites. Try and get listed in good directory's like http://dmoz.org and yahoo directory (Fee).
I hate it when some one adds links to the bottom of blogs that have nothing to do with the post or the blog, and only link to a service. This looks like spam and make it diffucult to find relevant and useful comments. Google may not follow these automatically, but many blogs automatically add a 'nofollow' attribute to the link, so that spiders know not to give links in comments any kind of search engine boost. Look at the html code (with link ctrl-u) and if the link includes rel="nofollow" then you've made the internet a more spammy place and you've not helped yourself one bit. This is a bad idea all around.
If you want to ping a webpage autmatically then simply add this url as a bookmark: Click the bookmark to ping the page you are on.
thats the main problem other than time invested. How do you even know if your comment will stick or be deleted? Do you actually keep track of all your blog comments on a main list and check back in 3 months to see if they were indexed?
Actually it's best to leave a few comments on a blog with dofollow tag. No point working so hard to find dofollow blogs and get one link from each. Have you tried Hubpages? the search engines seem to crawl Hubpages many times, and the links appear in my webmaster report within 2 weeks.
I recently upgraded my blog with DoFollow and CommentLuv see my signature feel free to comment on my blog, as long as you don't spam me I will be more than happy to approve your comment and give you a free dofollow backlink.
Can anybody answer this question: I've left 30+ comments on different blogs. When will the links get indexed by Google? When will they show up in Google Webmaster Tools?
30 links huh-not a bad amount of work. My daily schedule at this point involves 25 blog comments for backlinks, among at least 5 other sources. Keep up the work, it gets easier and when you start seeing results it makes it a ton easier. Try and remember those links become more valuable as they age, so you're really making a payment to your future success.
It will range from 8 hours to 30 days depending on the PR of the blog, how much traffic it gets, the PR of your site, and whether you remember to ping the blog after you have placed your post. If you forget to ping the blog, it may never get indexed. On average, Google spiders *our* blogs within 60 seconds of us pinging them, and results typically appear in SERPS within 72 hours of being spidered. Your mileage may vary. ^F^
Thanks for the response. I've actually pinged all the blogs I've left comments on, and that is about 100+ blogs at the moment.
Nice blog. I have been and read through a few of your posts. I am liking your general distaste towards social media
