I had a look at the software. You get 3 free submissions. After that they want cash. So basically this post is all about selling their business. I went looking online and found software that submitted to twice as many sites. All free. They do give you a big list of places you can submit articles. You can do that yourself with a search engine. Basically you write an article and then it gets submitted to hundreds of sites. (with their paid service) Dig out your wallet.

That is an excellent question, and I really don't have a definitive answer for you. I think it came down to several things:
    1. I was seeing a stead increase in visitors among several of my sites during this period. This was mostly from having users create unique content while I kept it SEOed and well organized.
    2. I changed some layouts around so that adsense was more prominent on more of my pages.
    3. There is a possibility that advertisers are competing more on clicks as the holidays approach.
    4. Right after the new year, several of my sites got a huge bump in google traffic from some reason, which has not seemed to have ceased.

For the last 2.5 years, I have printed out a daily agenda every single day, wrote notes on it, and saved each one in a binder for future reference. I'm currently traveling and don't have access to those binders at the moment, otherwise I'd go back and look through it to see what sort of stuff I was focusing my time on. Maybe someday I'll scan em all in so I can have access wherever I go.

If you are not yet successful with your Adsense earnings, you can ask questions in this thread and I will help give you feedback.

    Onsite:
    1. I'd get my own domain for better brandability first off.
    2. Get a better blog layout.
    3. Write about something unique. Your topics seem really general.
    4. Write for humans that will be interested by your writing, not search engines.
    5. I'd personally post fewer posts, but do better quality posts. Overall, your writing needs to improve.

Offsite: (You need quality writing on your site first to hook visitors when they arrive)
    1. Start commenting on other people's blog posts that are CLOSELY related to yours.
    2. Leave your signature on the forum.
    3. Write really interesting articles, then submit to digg, reddit, etc.

Personally, I've never made money off my own writing before. I don't think it is a great business model because it has extremely low barriers to entry, and you either have to do all the writing yourself or pay writers to do it for you. Anyone can start a blog who can use a computer. Everyone knows how to write words into a blog post, so you have LOTS OF COMPETITION.

I see people become successful bloggers, but they are few and far between. In order to become successful, you need to constantly come up with controversial and interesting topics, be an excellent writer, stick with it for a long time, and a little bit of luck.

Not to discourage you from blogging or anything. Its a great and easy way for a beginner to put something together and start getting their feet wet with making money online.

Tom, congrats on the success. It's nice when all the hard work finally pays off.

I'm curious how you went about finding writers to write content for your sites. Do you compensate them in anyway or just offer exposure to their sites?

No, ideally you create a comment/q&a feature so users are asking and answering questions. You create the framework so that the visitors can easily create your content, and it is organized in a well-SEOed manner so that you can fully leverage the free content your users are generating for you. I rarely pay people to write for me.

I don't believe you are trying to sell anything now, but still. Ever seen the movie "Envy" where Jack Black becomes a billionaire and instead of moving to a high class area he decides to build his 40,000sq foot home. The one complete with a bed that sleeps 13 people and a bowling alley? Anyway the neighbors home was under the shadow of the sun from his mansion. Do you think that is right?
    Of course not.
Cause right now you are making a topic like this and it makes me wonder. Do you normally go through the ghetto with a Ferrari?
Possibly not, but he was nobody until he made the first screenshot. I bet there was a pretty good increase after that day. Its no doubt that it was part of his business plan.
Well success/luck what ever the difference between you and me. Let's compare the advice I give over yours.......
You said: Continue promoting at all angles. Onsite and offsite. Onsite promotion would include creating more content so that you rank for more keywords, and offsite would be any type of link building, social media marketing, article writing, guest blog posting, etc. -You basically told him to do what a webmaster does....:(-
I say: Hi, sksk. It all depends on how much time and effort you want to put. If you sign up for stumbleupon.com, make a profile, and add your link it will throw you an extra 50 visitors per month if you go through the trouble of reviewing your site with the stumble bar. Its not much but its a start. Now signing up for linkreferral.com will do the same. The problem with these two is it does not bring NATURAL traffic. You need to do more seo if you want google and the other search engines to bring you lots of traffic. There is too much to list. Blog replying, press releases, article submission, mass directory submission. All of this helps and its part of the long process of link building. If you link build your site gets rises rankings. Here's something to get you started.http://www.bestcatalog.net/seo_tips/directories.htm

    Submit away!
Umm, actually no. Realistically you should only get a max $1300 unless you are one of those moron medical drug spammers who stalk people through dishonest ways like Email marketing.
I have a site that gets between 59,000UV to 70,000UV per month and it makes around $700 on a good month.
You Said: No, sorry. You've gotta do it on your own! There is plenty of info out there on adsense placement. A big part of being successful is figuring out how to do stuff on your own. I never had a mentor or anyone who helped me along the way.
I say: I'm sorry I can't help you because its really not something I have time for. If I do have spare time I most likely would like to use it all on my hobbies, but don't think you lost out. You are sitting in Digitalpoint. The information here is worth millions. You have to crawl before you walk. You don't need a lot of money, you need knowledge. Learn about how to pick domains smart, then it will lead you to getting hosting for the best price, then it'll lead you to keyword research using google adwords. You can't buy a domain without a site idea, etc. There's so much to learn but just go down the list of as much as possible and do not be quick to start a site. I spent 8 months @ 8hrs a day learning then one day I said "I'm getting a site" and it has sql and all of this junk I didn't know how to install with my hosting, but after a yr down the road. I knew a lot. Do it that way.
go to this site and read everything in it. It is a little outdated, but this information is a great compilation. It'll save you a year of learning in one day.

This thread is for newbies like you, just posting to drop his link or gain posts to start dropping.

Anyway this thread has no useful info yet. All suggestions of doing onsite offside promotion is simply total BS. These are general statements. Same, like work hard and you will be millionaire. The ad units sizes are nothing new as well. Every month we getting emails from google advising what sizes performing best.

You like Nirvana. That's a start. ahaha, just kidding.
PR is easy kid. Just submit to a billion directories and you'll hit at pr4.

Ok, you have been accused of making general advice like "work on your site" etc which doesn't help but I believe I've been too harsh with you so I'm going to give you a shot to give advice to me.
    Here goes:
I own dinosaurfact.net which is a site with information about dinosaurs and everything related. The site is fairly large and all of the content is unique. It been around for years and I have been updating it for years. I have the onsite seo as best and I can and it dominates all of the 2nd level keywords. Its the main keyword I struggle with "Dinosaurs". I currently go between 4th to 9th place for that one.
The site generates 60,000UV per month and makes roughly $600/M through adsense and $100 through Kontera. I realize that I am not using the 728by90 ad unit which has the highest CTR but I'm afraid the site will get too spammy for the visitors. I also hired someone to dub the site in Spanish so that's available as well.
I've done what I can for SEO and I'm tired of working on it. Sitemap, urllist, press releases, replying to 400 blogs related, 30,000 directories, link building everywhere. On top of that because it has an educational value it gathers tons of high quality links from school divisions.
I feel like I can't do anymore so I ask you this:
Tom, I need some solid advice:
"Is there something I am missing, what can I do to boost it?"

Here are a couple of things I'm thinking of doing and was wondering if you had thought about doing this? Have you launched a campaign on youtube? Have you gotten people to hand out fliers at school? Looks like a very educational site which could help some students, have you thought about launching a short commercial for the TV advertising your website?
